ON SATURDAY, IT BEGAN.

I was sitting at a table in my favorite cigar bar, drinking a Duckhorn pinot noir, and enjoying a Bolivar cigar that was part of my recent haul at Cigar Aficionado's Big Smoke evening. The house band had just started up. Life was good.

And then she walked in. The Woman with the Dirty Looks.

Apparently, she'd missed the sign outside that identified the establishment as the "Havana Cigar Company." And the walk-in humidor with its hundreds of cigars. And the counter, where cigarettes, lighters and all manner of cigar

Ohhhhhh, you mean the democrat party. Well, I guess they're just smarter than all of us. /sarc

Democrats do claim to be smarter than all of us. If Dims keep getting smarter they will all become Republicans soon.

Over the years there have been laws and rules passed to stop smoking in hotels, hospitals, restaurants, on airlines, etc. They have never stopped me from smoking in any of these facilities. And, I will bet they never do! BTW, I have only smoked in hospitals while a patient. Never while visiting.

Will begin growing my own tobacco next spring for the first time. Just in case they decided to ban the sale of it. Have purchased some really nice pipes just for that purpose. They can't stop illegal drugs and they will never stop those that are determined from smoking.

No. Are you sure you're in the right forum?

It aint just the left winger/democrats pushing these smoking bans...here in Missouri, the Republicans are just as guilty of pushing them.
How can someone call themselves conservative and still support these bans?

demsux, relax you're in the right place.

The tobacco companies, despite what retards (check that, Conservatives of Convenience or COC's) who post here, know where their bread is buttered.

Their contributions to Republican candidates outnumber Dim contributions by 4-1.

Forget what power hungry politicians who want to stay in power at all cost do, or what 5 FReepers who don't get it say, pay attention to the think tanks like Heritage. They are the true barometer of ideas that underly the Conservative movement.

DING,DING,DING!

This is why the antis are not pushing for prohibition.

Then, all these LOSERS would have to find a real job.

They're vermin of the lowest order.

Yes, I am sure I am in the right forum. Even if your particular understanding of RKBA is different from mine, and even if a majority agree with your particular slant on it, doesn't mean I should "go away", or search out some "other forum".
The first and only time I saw regular citizens walking around with exposed holsters and firearms was when we moved to Arizona in 1982, and we lived there through most of 1985. And I didn'/t even see it that much in Az. I must admit I found it refreshing. But how do you square the idea of a blanket 100% tolerance of anyone and everyone being allowed to do same? (or don't you?). You wanna talk about gun-grabbing? Here's a new wrinkle on it---assuming they are deft enough, any criminal could reach right over, unsnap the gun right out of the holster of a law-abiding citizen, and then HE'S got the gun, assuming he didn't already have one of his own. Or are you assuming in such a scenario that a hypothetical THIRD person would see this crime taking place, and intervene with HIS gun?? While I do agree with the John Lott equation "more guns, less crime" I can see dozens of scenarios that would be better avoided.

No laws are needed for that, sport.

How do you figure there are no laws needed for that?
If there are laws to prevent it , wouldn't there need to be laws to allow it? Or am I dense here? I'm sure you'll tell me, given the fact that you don't know me yet already address me with the respectful "sport".

Explain to me how booze was outlawed in all 50 states on anything approaching a legal ballot. If it was, I'm impressed.

The right to keep and bear arms is a right. It is granted at birth by virtue of having been born a human being.

Any law restricting or limiting its exercise is tantamount to slavery.

How old are you?

any criminal could reach right over, unsnap the gun right out of the holster of a law-abiding citizen

And would thereupon be shot by any other law-abiding citizens in the vicinity dutifully exercising their right to keep and bear arms.
