I just received a private e-mail from someone I know from a Marine website who has family in Iraq. There has been a weapons cache explosion that caused many, hundreds of people to be exposed to some chemical that was present in the weapons.

Since it was reported in the email as the 5/14, that would indicate the Stryker Cav unit. Otherwise one would think it would have been stated via voice as Five Hundred and Fourteenth. Not Five Fourteen. A Stryker Cav unit would theoretically be a unit that could be utilized if you had gotten information on a very large weapons cache from the interrogation of the individuals in the story I posted. Obviously they were heavy players and had to have a large weapons cache they were drawing from. So you send out your best Stryker Cav units to help secure the weapons cache. That would be my guess anyway.

So the call came in on November 15th in the morning. That would indicate that it occurred on the 14th or a few days before. Iraq is also 1/2 day ahead of us.

By the way, I was given this information because I was posting JVERITAS translation and other news articles on WMD's for some time on another website.I was his trusted source to reveal it.
Interesting. Please keep us posted, Race. Prayers for our troops over there...

It could be possible that the 5 was a typo and should have been a 2 instead or perhaps just a mistake.

FORT DRUM, N.Y. A soldier from San Francisco died in Iraq of a non-combat injury, military officials said Tuesday. Army Pfc. Keith J. Moore, 28, who was stationed out of Fort Drum, died Saturday in Baghdad. No further details on his death were available late Tuesday, but the incident remained under investigation, Department of Defense officials said in a written statement.
Moore was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.

With these Multi-National Force Structures it is hard to say. Could have mix and match units. The unit designations were given by voice to the person who composed the email. The main question if it was the new Stryker Cav unit, is why were they assigned to the 10th Mountain Division ? Perhaps a logistical assignment. They were a new type of unit. Combining Cav personal with the Stryker.
To: Enosh
Yes, but that was not news back then. Everyone at the networks were in denial.
It may not have been news in the US, but it was in Iraq! I remember EVERYONE at Camp Blackjack (Baghdad) had their pro-masks on their hip after the first one went off.

They were a new type of unit. Combining Cav personal with the Stryker. And from the looks of it they were originally with the 2nd division, then with the 25th, so I guess 10th Mountain's also possible.
To: ArmstedFragg
The 5th squadran was the newest of the 14th Cav. Activated on October 13th 2005.

They are called the STRYKEHORSE .
Please note this is just third hand information with a lot of guesses at this point.
