On Bill Maher's Real Time: "There are some, you know there are some anti-Semites in this country, but most of them would vote Republican anyway." You can watch it here.
Yeah, because, you know, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Keith Ellison, Michael Moore and other leading lights of American anti-Semitism are Republicans.
Not to mention surveys demonstrating without question that Democrats are more likely to have unsympathetic views of Israel than Republicans. (No, I'm not saying you can't be anti-Israel without being anti-Semitic. But it's a signpost.)
This was Chuck Schumer attempting to be jocular. Hardy-har-har.
Plus her kissing of Mrs. Arafat and her "husband" inviting Yasser to the WH more times than any other foreign "dignitary".
Bill Clinton called Arthur Finkelstein " self loathing " because as a Jew and gay, he dared to be a Republican.
Howard Dean had to apologize for anti-Semitic literature being distributed at the DNC headquarters.
The list of Democrats who have made anti Semitic remarks is very long.
Jesse Jackson.
Jim Moran D-Va.
Fritz Hollings.
Earl Hillard D-Arkansas ( Wesley Clark supporter )
The McKinneys.
James Webb distributed anti Semitic literature against his opponent in the primaries, Harris Miller.
Cindy Sheehan.
Ray McGovern.
Joe Wilson.
Al Sharpton actually encouraged his acolytes to burn out the Jews at Freddy's Fashion Mart in Harlem.. and they did.
Eight died.
And that's a Jewish assessment!
The fact is that jerks like Schumer play into that paranoia because they know that it's there in too many Jews.
No way that Chuckie would listen to Rabbi Lapin because the rabbi is a "right-wing extremist"!
Hillary Rotten Clinton (a. k. a. "Her Royal Thighness," "Tubba," "The Witch")
Seems as if Maher (who is himself part Jewish by lineage) and his audience were really yucking it up when Chuckie made that remark. I wouldn't expect anything less from an airhead like Maher.
Hillary Clinton is the number one anti-semite having made Jewish slurs that have been heard and reported.
No way Schmucky Chucky and Airhead Bill Maher should go unchallenged! Isn't obvious that the most numerous and most influential antisemites in the US are Democrats or Democrat lackeys?
Oh, that Chuckie the Killer Doll is such a laugh riot. He and Bill "Botox" Maher are two of the most despicable people in the USA.
and he was elected on it! But George Allen totally mishandled the business about his mother's family. He should have stated that "it was a family matter" and that his mother and her family had suffered during WWII, and that their way of getting on with their lives was to develop amnesia. The book After Long Silence, is about a woman who finds out that her family, who lives in the USA, is really Jewish and explores Judaism again.
I am Jewish and want nothing to do with the Chuckster. He embarrasses me!
Though it's silly to tar all Republicans with that brush, the truth is that people have come into the GOP over the last thirty years who do think that way.
These anti-Semitism charges should be easy to refute and too ludicrous for the media to bother repeating. Yet, somehow there are always seem to be enough Buchanans and Robertsons and the like wielding enough influence in the Republican Party to make them stick.
I'm with you!
Chuckie, we dont hate all jews, just you, particularly since your stellar and unforgettable performance at the Waco Hearings.
Don't lump Robertson into the same category as Buchanan. Robertson, to the best of my knowledge, has never made an antisemitic remark and is a firm supporter of Israel. (In fact, I have heard him speak to a prodominantly Jewish audience at a synagogue.)
Buchanan has been marginalized from the GOP and, if you recall, ran an independent campaign for president in 2000, nearly handing the election to the Democrats.
The difference here is that antisemites who try to gain influence in the GOP tend to be ostracized, while their counterparts in the Democratic Party achieve prominence and influence.
Robertson isn't a racial anti-Semite, but a religious one: he essentially tells Jews they are going straight to Hell if they don't convert to Christianity. That attitude, coupled with his influence in Republican circles, would understandably make Jews nervous.
Any Jew who thinks that Pat Robertson represents a threat to religious freedom and other civil liberties for American Jews is one of the paranoid upon whose irrational fears lefties like Schmcky Chuckie Schumer prey.
