What Chuck doesn't get is that that candidates who won were Pro-Life, moderates. He's swinging his party right.

Thank you---I was waiting for an astute FReeper like you to come up with that insight.

There's no going back. Not only do the Dims have to look more rightish---but they have to be as pure as the driven snow. No less a liberal than Newsweak's Eleanor Clift said that if the Dims give a leadership position to, say, Alcee Hastings, an impeached former judge, they will have a two year majority.

Thus the dustup over Murtha's elevation has nothing to do with Iraq---but with his past dealings.

The Dims swinging right also drives Republicans even more rightward. Repubs cannot win without churchgoing conservatives. The Pubbies lost Tuesday b/c their base could not stomach the foisting of pro-abortion liberals like RNC's Mehlman and Guiliani on the party.

I am amazed. You guys don't understand -- they will vote with Schumer as Freshman Senators. There is only ONE Senator in the Dims who will vote with Republicans in the Senate and that is Ben Nelson of NE. Here is one of your new leaning right Senators from Ohio - Sherrod Brown with a lifetime ACU rating of 8 with 13 years of service in the House.

If you think that Casey from PA will vote for a Bush Judge, think again, or the new Senators from VA, MT, RI, OH or MO. Do you realize how liberal some of these new Senators are?

Dems are not going right -- their candidates were told what to run on and if they were actually pro-life and vote against the Dims, they will out the next time because that is how they work -- louzy committee assignments, nothing for their states, and the list goes on. They will be blackballed if they vote with Republicans.

Someone needs to back to reality about the Democrat Party and not swallow the koolaid.

You are wrong. Claire McCaskill, Sherod Brown, Whitehouse, and Ben Cardin are not.

Nah, they'll Murtha Alcee. But don't expect these folks to govern from the center-right, Liz. They lied to win the election. The agenda in DC will swing violently to the left,. no matter what these scumbags said at home.
