Yes, it was a good thing we had a 55 to 45 majority during the Clinton years. We were able to use our majority muscle to stop left-wing ACLUer ideologues like Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

I think I forgot that we were majority in the Senate during Clinton years. Wow we really wasted many years than. That is a shame.

This was because most of the Republicans (like Orrin Hatch) thought that Clinton was entitled to choose the judges, and if the judge was "well-qualified" and did not have any history of corruption, he/she should be confirmed, even if his/her ideology was different from that of the Republicans.
Democrats controlled the Senate in '94, but nevermind.
