Nice story, but it bothers me that the article implies that this was yet another case of a dangerous evil gun going off by itself -- twice!
the shooter jammed the gun back into the waistband of his pants -- and it went off accidentally pulled the trigger in the process.
causing him to cringe -- which caused the gun to fire him to accidentally pull the trigger again.

That's an excellent point. It's conceivable that something like a belt buckle caught the trigger, but I'll bet that he was disobeying the "Keep your finger off the trigger" rule of gun safety. A dismaying number of inexperienced shooters think their finger belongs on the trigger as long as the gun is in their hand.
