Well somehow it became such a problem that charges were made so There must have been some reason that they were. I still say its stupid and that good manners on both sides would have ended it. However they weren't used. And the man was charged. As I wasn't there I don't know and to be honest its pretty boring now so I am done with this. Have a great day!!

Do you think that everyone arrested, or charged with a crime, is guilty?

They have the power to arrest based solely on the word of the flight attendant. That he was charged means nothing unless you already believe that flight attandant.

Just as a follow-up:
I still say its stupid and that good manners on both sides would have ended it.

Do you think that bad manners ought to be punishable under anti-terrorism laws? That's what seems to have actually happened.

We really don't know what was said or not said as no passengers have come forward. Theres only 2 sides being shown here. I personally think its stupid. I don't think he should have said what he said and I don't think he should be charged. However I do think if asked by the attendant the man should have stated he was sick or he should have removed his head from her lap. Do I think he should be charged? hmmmm not really. I think this is just a case of being too stupid to remove your head from your girlfriends lap even though it was offending other people who complained about it. Its more of a case of stupidity. I think it will be dropped and the guy will sue.

I agree that there may well be fault to go around.

I think you're missing the bigger picture, though - anti-terror laws should not even have been raised. If they're being mentioned now, how will a Dim president abuse them?

No I am not. God only knows what the dems will do, its a scary thing to think about. I was thinking about this and came up with this question. Don't we have air marshals on all flights? If so then where was he during this? I don't like flying, never have . However yrs ago I was on a flight to TX and 2 drunks got into a fight . Plane landed and they were arrested. Now this was way back in the early 80's. I was told then it was a fed crime to cause a disturbance on a flight. Is that true? I agree anti-terror laws should not even have been raised as this was not an act of terror.

So they're terrorists now? And freepers agree with that assessment?

They are "terrorists" only according to the MSM spin.

If you had threatened a flight crewmember prior to 9/11 because she asked you to put your seat in an upright position for landing, you would have been in deep kim-chee back then too.

This has nothing to with sex or terrorism.

It has everything to do with threatening a flight crewmember during the performance of their duty.

Just had to post this since it involves flight attendants.

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks. As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing this big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines, but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."

She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one."

To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch."

I'm calling BS. Southwest has no cross-country flights. If they go from L.A. to Raliegh, it would likely be with stops in places like Phoenix and Memphis. They could have just kicked them off the plane there.

The time I felt sick on a plane (on the return flight after having caught the flu during the flight up), I asked for a pillow, lowered the tray in front of me and dropped my head onto the pillow for the entire flight. I would have never sought someone's lap. That's a very hollow argument.

Then you and I have no quarrel.

That's what I was seeking to clarify.

I wouldn't have either. I would have reclined . I think twisting one's self to get their head into someone's lap is hollow too. I think also if you are asked to not do something because it is offending others you should comply.

--It's apparent the flight attendant went to public school. ZERO tolerance policies and ZERO common sense have been ingrained.
But for God's sake, DO NOT profile the passengers because that may hurt someone's FEELINGS!--

Libertarian?

You already sacrifice a lot of privacy and comfort to get on an airplane and spend two hours to get some place instead of driving for a day. It seems to me that you can sit still for that length of time and just read or chat. Anything beyond that is just bonus and, if you don't like it, get in a car and drive there. Plenty of people already do.

As predicted, The "Patriot Act" is being abused.

No surprise there.

What's surprising is the number of cheerleaders who think it's a good thing to use it this way.

Incredible.
