The videotape is grainy, dark and devastating. The congressman and the FBI undercover agents -- the congressman thinks they represent an Arab sheik willing to pay $50,000 to get immigration papers -- are talking business in the living room of a secretly wired Washington townhouse.
Two other congressmen in on the deal "do expect to be taken care of," the lawmaker says. But for the time being -- and he says repeatedly that he might change his mind and take money down the road -- he'd rather trade his help for investment in his district, maybe a hefty deposit in the bank of a political supporter who's done him favors.
"I'm not interested -- at this point," he says of the dangled bribe. "You know, we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't, you know." Indeed, he acknowledges, even though he needs to be careful -- "I expect to be in the [expletive] leadership of the House," he notes -- the money's awfully tempting. "It's hard for me to say, just the hell with it...."

Its rather ruff being tough--when they've got you by the balls!!
In early 2004, according to Roll Call, Mr.Murtha "reportedly leaned on U.S. Navy officials to sign a contract to transfer the Hunters Point Shipyard to the city of San Francisco."
Laurence Pelosi, nephew of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, at the time was an executive of the company which owned the rights to the land.
I wonder if Pelosi is just paying off debts.
You betcha!!!
Translation: "Please, Please, Please, Oh great Nancy. Please don't further expose the ethics problems in the Democrat caucus."
Boy, second story in the WashPost in 2 days. All this AFTER the election. You'd think with Congressman running for reelection the paper would have had these story before...oh, never mind.
Maybe it would be better for him to win as Majority Leader. It would make him a bigger target.
Steney Hoyer is from Maryland, isn't he?
Sort of makes sense. I would be interested to know who Hoyer has on the WaPo editorial board that owes him several favors.
I understand that WMan, however, my concern is that he also paints a huge target on our TROOPS on the BATTLEFIELD!
"By whom and how?
Carolyn"
By us. We hold the MSM accountable by not buying their fishwrap. We really do need a coordinated campaign to go after the advertisers. We have to speed up the death of the MSM.
If the GOP would be contemplating a guy like Murtha for a leadership job, the MSM and the Demo duds would be all over the place abhorring the choice. I guess we say nothing. Oh well, let them. I guess Nancy says the Dems will not disappoint. If you are a Dem, a crook isn't such a bad thing.
I dont......
This is the setup for Hillary. I tell you they write these scripts in Michael Moore's basement.
Hillary is the only RAT who came out for the war. She needs to parlay that. Putting Murtha there puts Hillary in a bad light because if we do cut and run, Hillary cannot say "I didn't approve of that." If we stay though, she can say, "See, I was for the war and it makes her look more centrist."
We are watching a television movie unfold. It is smoke and mirrors because that's all the RATS have. That's all they ever had, same as the Communists in Eastern Europe had.
Refer back to any periodical about Moscow in the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's and you will find this information. It just has to be put into context.
It will be Nancy vs the Washington Post
Who will blink
If she dumps Murtha will he blow the whistle on her
If she digs in will the facts on Murtha and his sleazy ties to her come out
So far the WAPO only is focusing on Murtha
Power struggle--WAPO has all the ammo but will they be really be willing to sink Nancy( if she tells them to shove it )and shame the dems
If so they will do it right up front so the voters have 2 years to go back to sleep before 2008
Very interesting
Corrected here! The real Jack Murtha 6-21-06:
Actually, there isn't, but every now and then they get it right. Sort of like a stopped clock.
Or is Nancy like the Tar Baby and the WAPO Is stuck with her
