WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 One of the most resonant arguments in the debate over Iraq holds that the United States can move forward by pulling its troops back, as part of a phased withdrawal...
...This is the case now being argued by many Democrats, most notably Senator Carl Levin of Michigan... who asserts that the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq should begin within four to six months.
But this argument is being challenged by a number of military officers, experts and former generals, including some who have been among the most vehement critics of the Bush administrations Iraq policies....
...Anthony C. Zinni, the former head of the United States Central Command and one of the retired generals who called for the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, argued that any substantial reduction of American forces over the next several months would be more likely to accelerate the slide to civil war than stop it.

In the meantime the NYT endorsed no Republican in the last election and is wallowing in joy since there are no Republican constitutional officers in NY State, no senators and very few Republicans in the House of Representatives.
They are taking the country and themselves over a cliff while claiming the best of intentions.
All of a sudden the NYT sees reasons to stay!
Just long enough to win an election.
Suddenly, even their military 'experts' have changed their minds. Typical dim flip-flops.
"But this argument is being challenged by a number of military officers"
They just now have figured this out.
Cut and Run becomes Bait and Switch?
Of course, doing so would have consequences for Western Civilization that would prove to be cataclysmic....but it would strengthen the RATS,at least for a while.
Now it looks like the real word is, stay the course, your taxes are going up and trust me while I bring in my own crooked congressmen.
OK, NY Times. Thanks for the analysis. Now what was it again that Bush and Rumsfield were doing wrong?
I love this stuff! It's going to be so much fun watching the DU-type-Dem heads explode!!
Hand me the popcorn...
Haha. Direct contradiction to Levin.
Oh, my...how are the Dems going to appease their anti-war base now?
Governing while republican.
The election is over and Bush is no fool. Six months ago he created the ISG to distract the MSM from the real action.
Meanwhile he has been quietly placing US naval assets near Iran to bait Ahmadinejab into a provocation.
The MSM and the oil market are clueless about what is to happen shortly in the Persian Gulf.
BUMP
Michigan sends two of the most insidious Communist moles in the country to Washington every year: John Conyers and Carl Lenin.
I like that idea..
Wow! What a legacy that would make!
My first thought was, "Move-on and Soros aren't going to like this!"
The Dems are in a lose-lose situation now. If they withdraw, all hell breaks loose and it looks bad for the '08 election. If they don't, they haven't kept their only campaign promise, and things look bad in '08. I'm almost beginning to enjoy myself.
I hope you're right. By the way I love your tagline!
Then they cut and ran from it...
