What motivated man accused of sending threats [Olbermann launches on right-wing blogs re: Castagana]

Over the weekend, authorities arrested 39-year-old Chad Castagana on suspicion of sending threatening letters to media outlets and the homes of several public figures including "Countdown" host Keith Olbermann.

On Tuesday, Olbermann spoke to Radar Online senior writer John Cook who has been covering the story. Cook said Castagana appeared to be admirers of conservative pundits Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and Laura Ingraham.

"Ann Coulter and Malkin...sort of present a kind of rhetorical world view where they have their troops out there," Cook said, "and I think he thought of himself as one of their troops and wanted to live up to their standards."

Castagana has also been identified as a gushing online admirer of Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and Laura Ingraham. And the Web site RawStory reports that many bloggers believe he is also a contributor, under a different name, to the conservative Web site FreeRepublic. In fact, the name used is supposed to be Marc Costanzo.

COOK: Well, we should point out the evidence is not conclusive, but—it’s circumstantial, but it’s good evidence. It appears that Mr. Castagana was a poster to the FreeRepublic, which, as you know, is an online library of some of the most thoughtful right-wing thinkers out there. And his—the Marc Costanzo alias that he used, his profile said, “Ann Coulter is a goddess and I idolize Malkin and Ingraham.” And there are a lot of posts that suggest that he’s a big fan of Malkin and Coulter.

If even half of what is posted is true, the guy is a nutcase and should be locked up. No matter how much you may dislike someone, threatening harm on them isn't a smart or civilized thing to do.

We have a number of house liberals who have quite a bit of longevity and very seldom get that 220V shock through the keyboard (you didn't read that disclaimer when you signed up, did you?) Many of us recognize that the biggest enemy we face is the Treason Media which constantly undermines the President and National Security (not to mention mere human dignity.)

How can you justify any media source NOT telling the American People of the existence of an entire Nuclear Weapons research program run for Saddam in Libya with Iraqi scientists, materials etc.? We know it existed because Libya admitted it after the invasion of Iraq and turned over all equipment and material related to it. Yet, there have been NO significant stories, NO deeply researched articles in major newspapers, NO in depth shows on ABCCBSCNNNBC. Certainly Olbermann never mentions it.

Just THIS program alone justified the removal of Saddam yet the Treason Media suppresses the information because it would illustrate the grave danger Saddam posed. Only by such suppression, distortion, misinformation and outright LIES has the Treason Media been able to delude the voters into giving more power to the democrats. IF even 1/2 the truth about such matters were allowed the democrat party would be in a permanent minority.

WITH the current media it is a miracle that ANY Republicans EVER get elected anywhere.

I read about Marc Costanzo two days ago when I was looking up Free Republic on Wipikedia, he was listed as a former member who had been arrested for crimes against democrats.
