LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox said Tuesday it will air a two-part interview with O.J. Simpson at month's end in which he describes the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend that he says he didn't commit.
The interview will be conducted by editor and book publisher Judith Regan. On November 30, her Regan Books is publishing a book Simpson wrote with the working title "If I Did It, Here's How It Happened."
Fox said Simpson's book "hypothetically describes" how he would have committed the murders. The special will air at 9 p.m. November 27 and 29 on Fox.
Fox executives declined comment about the show Tuesday. In a statement released Tuesday, executive vice-president/alternative programming Mike Darnell said: "This is an interview that no one thought would ever happen. It's the definitive last chapter in the trial of the century."
Fox is a subsidiary of News Corp., which also owns Regan Books.
A spokeswoman for Regan Books didn't return a phone call or an e-mail seeking comment Tuesday.
Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman; he can't be tried again for those crimes. In 1997, a civil court found him responsible for the slayings and ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the victims' families.
IF..I was Ron Goldmnan's father I would take my pound of flesh out of Fox by going medevil on them.
I have predicted this since day one.
Once he runs out of money he will "admit" this crime to the highest bidder.
All of the evidence is very clear on how he did it.
IF..I was Ron Goldmnan's father I would take my pound of flesh out of Fox by going medevil on them.
Absolutely disgusting. That man shouldn't be allowed ANY face time on television EVER. I hope Mr. Goldman gets the cash.
I remember Bundy gave an interview where he did the same thing. The interviewer would ask a question about how one of his victim's died, for example, and Bundy would say "I wouldn't know anything about that." Then the interviewer would ask how he imagined it may have happened, and Bundy would go into a long, detailed explanation of how he "imagined" the kidnapping and murder took place.
How did that "if" make it into the title?
It ain't pretty.
Hopefully FOX has a good interviewer that comes prepared to vigorously cross exam. Maybe show pictures of the crime scene blood etc. while O.J. is talking. I am talking big time ambush. Maybe Greta V.??? Don't honor any pre-interview agreements. The man's a murderer and not entitled to that level of respect. Stipulate that the interview is without his attorney present. Try to make him mad (in the Jack McCoy vein before Law and Order became unwatchable). The rebroadcast of O.J. walking out would be a ratings winner. I would watch even though I haven't watched Fox in years except for sports.
Oh...dear, how could I forget the Cowboys...they are right in my backyard???
But they aren't going to WIN this week...no way!
It's true that the state of California had it's one bite at the apple and, through the LA County DA's office, failed miserably. Double jeopardy would be to try the same person more than once on the same crime. I have always felt that there should have been a federal prosecution of O.J. and A.C.Cowlings for what may have been a before-the-fact conspiracy to commit the crime, or an after-the-fact-conspiracy to obstruct justice and cover it up. The cell phone and air phone calls that O.J. made (see the testimony of the driver who took him to the airport, see the testimony of those who recognized O.J. and observed him on the United red-eye to Chicago, using an "air-phone" to make several calls.) were almost undoubtedly to Cowlings, asking him to deep six some bags of bloody clothing left at O.J. residence. Unfortunately the LA County DA's office made such a mess of the investigation and criminal trial - there was probably no effort to trace the calls and reconstruct what conversations he was having on the plane.
There is no doubt in my mind that he committed the murders. Given that fact - how likely is a guy with OJ's I.Q. to have planned and executed the perfect crime? Not likely at all. There had to be details to be cleaned up, evidence to be disposed of - and the number of calls that he made, and the time that he was making these air-phone calls (all after midnight west coast time) suggests he was giving direction to Cowlings to tidy some things up and to lose certain implements or accessories used in he crime.
If a federal prosecution had been contemplated first - it would have led to conviction (on the charges that could yet be lodged) and would almost certainly led to conviction on the CA murder charges, because there would have been a roadmap, a playbook for the LA County DA's to follow - created by the much more competent U.S. Attorney's office. Federal prosecutors would never have botched that case the was Marcia Clark did.
BWAHHHHHHAAHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully the cash will be subjected to levy by the unconvicted killer's very large judgment creditor. But that of course is the reason that no cash is involved. Whatever is involved, if anything of a remunerative nature, will be in the nature in in kind services.
LOL! Yeah, they play the 9-0 Colts!!
On FOX Tonight! When OJs Attack!
so afr I 've read every post and well I'll enjoy the airing.Know why ? This fool will mess up in details...
...like Pete Rose, vanity eats this man alive.
I missed that but would agree that it was disgusting. I also thought that Geraldo's mapping of US Troop positions on Fox News was disgusting.
Neither network has out troops best interests in mind.
I don't think "T.O." will be taking any naps on the football in the end zone this week....LOL
