Remember Runaway Bride Jennifer Wilbanks? How could any of us forget the fleeing fiancée, considering the wall-to-wall media coverage we had to endure. I really like Judith Regan, and I am a liberal democrat. I like her because she is a very passionate and deep woman. She has keen insight on human nature, but she is nevertheless an idealist who is very hurt by the tragic nature of reality. The controversial documentary filmmaker has been the darling of the Cannes Film Festival so far, but there are those who aren't enamoured with his latest film, Fahrenheit 9/11. Jean-Luc Godard, the legendary French director who helped to launch the New Wave movement in the 1960s, had harsh words for Moore this week. Godard's latest film, Notre Musique, premiered on Monday, the same day as Fahrenheit 9/11. Later in the week, Godard lashed out at Moore at a press conference, calling him "halfway intelligent." Godard, who hadn't seen Fahrenheit...

This week the small staff at ReganBooks - the highly profitable publishing imprint at Rupert Murdoch's HarperCollins - received good news and bad news. The good news is that Sean Hannity's "Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism and Liberalism," a ReganBooks title, has just hit No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller list. The bad news is that four more employees of the notoriously sharp-tongued Judith Regan have just left the imprint. The departure of longtime marketing director Carl Raymond and his assistant (whom Regan, in a brief phone interview, referred to as "a temp"), leaves ReganBooks without...
