Yeah, baby! How's that for a scumbag-stopper?!
Just Damn!!!
May God be with our troops at all times...
This would be the modern incarnation of the BEEHIVE round, I believe...
Yep. Cannister was my first thought as well.
Most of our kills in 'nam were with the 90MM canister version in the M48A3 tank. We had a beehive round which had a fuse adjustable by the loader for the ranged distance ordered by the tank commmander out to 4400 meters.
nothing like the screech of a round then the BLAM!! all the way through your chest to make you "feel" like your close to the action...bwahahahahah.
Next time video please. I had my popcorn and my feet up....
Folks,
I'm intimately aware of this whole story since I was invloved in it. It was not cannister rounds used, they were just strait HEAT rounds from the tank"s main gun. (120mm) These guys were trying to bury a propane tank in the middle of the road with some artillery shells for an IED. They add propane tanks or gasoline bottles to get a large fireball with the explosion so it will ignite the vehicle it hits or give severe burns to the crew. Anyway, these clowns didn't see it coming and 7 died in the initial blast. Another few came out later that night to recover the IED and we got them with main gun rounds too. To top the night off, we also had a Bradley observe some dudes running down the street with AKs and grenades and got them with the 25mm from teh Bradley. All in all, it was a good nihgt. What pisses me off more then anything is the broadcasted news reports on this (cnn) identifys them as local nationals, implying that they were just innocent Iraqis, when that definately was not the case.
It's good to see your in our corner people, God Bless.
maybe some music, chicks in bikinis and a "greatest hits".....
I'll cue up and buy some for stocking stuffers for some buddies.
keep your head on a swivel, God Bless you and hurry home to your family safe and sound...
God be with you and your fellow troops. Thanks for defending us!
We set up them the bomb!!!
Thanks for the report ... kudos to the tankers and Bradley gunners ... good shootin', guys!
