In his own words :o)

LOL, as Mitchell's first vote in the 110th Congress is for nancy pelosi as Speaker.
Mitchell didn't appear stronger on the border than Hayworth.
"Hayworth, a former sports broadcaster, could return to the media as a political pundit or talk show host"
He sure as Hell won't be invited to the White House.
These words of Mitchell don't hold a candle to what JD Hayworth has done and said over the last few years on illegal immigration.

Anti-immigrant lawmakers vulnerable in November
The worst anti-immigrant bigots in the House of Representatives are grouped together in the House Immigration Reform Caucus (HIRC), the brainchild of Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.). Of the toss-up seats, meaning the race could go either way, the following seats currently held by Republican members of the Tancredo caucus are in play: . Henry Hydes open seat in the 6th CD in Illinois. The Republican, Peter Roskam, is viciously anti-immigrant, while the Democrat, Tammie Duckworth, is open to legalization for the undocumented.

But...but...I thought "every Congressional candidate tied to Tom Tancredo's bandwagon lost". Does Peter Roskam know this? How do you explain Illinois' congressional delegation moving to the RIGHT when Republicans were losing nationwide?
Evidentially you never heard of Congressman-elect Peter Roskam, and don't care to know, since his victory goes against your "talking points" that campainging against illegal immigration = defeat.
Well you're gonna hear from him soon enough. Roskam and Tancredo will might quiet a team. Henry Hyde was a great elder statemen, but Roskam is even better on immigration and has the vitality to push hard for us in Washington.
The anti illegal immigration propositions won by overwhelming majorities, all 4 of them.
I really have to laugh at out of state people who think immigrants are no problem at all. You'll find out because they won't be sticking around Arizona, they'll just move on through because they have been made very unwelcome here.
Me?
You think that I think (illegal)immigrants aren't a problem?
You figure that exactly from what?
Tancredo was very quiet in last few weeks before the election. We lost 25 pro HR4437 seats in the House and replaced them with sweet talking Democrats.
Where was Tank?
What a shame.
No, I think that Dane, who lives in PA thinks illegals are no problem. I'm sick of out of state people who think we should just pay though the nose for health care, educate their children, pay welfare, for people who won't even bother to learn how to speak english.
Democrats as their first vote in the 110th Congress will be for nancy pelosi as Speaker.
What's the difference, that IS what he ran on to get elected. That was his "platform". Some people are smart enough to figure out some people will "say" anything to get elected. Whether he throws his election promises out remains to be seen.
Geez, the guy looks like a male Pelosi....WAYYYY too much botox!
I live in his district, I used to live in the vastly superior Jeff Flake's district, but they gerrymandered.
Why did JD lose? Easy, the guy is an idiot. A bloviating, arrogant doofus who was more concerned about jumping in front of a camera to tell us all how great he is.
And, he never talked about his pledge to only serve 3 terms, ooops.
I actually voted for this doofus because I don't care for Harry Mitchell, but I am not gonna miss this attention whore.
Munsil is a religious zealot and waaaaay too extreme. He never had a chance. I've known of Len since ASU when he was the editor of the paper. I don't like him, don't trust him, and did not vote for him (or Janet).

2nd paragraph.
What infuriates me is that this not have to happen. Conservatives got duped early or brainwashed by F.A.I.R , C.I.S., and NumbersUSA into this everything that is a compromise on what to do with the ones here was AMNESTY.
When it comes down to it people want the border secured and they want to know who is here. But most are not to thrilled with the starve them or deport them approach either. Especially when there is a family involved.
What I have never got was the politics of this. It was clear back in the summer that the House was showing signs of trouble in the coming election. If the House would have allowed the process to work then what was best about the Senate bill with what was best about the HB would have been combined. Now the people who refused to compromise will be on the outside looking in and have no influence. Why? Because they played the hardline game during the summer.
Its amazing I am seeing people that want to repeat this
Just too bad. I once had the opportunity to speak with the Congressman in a meeting at Phoenix. He is a top of the line Republican.
