Giuliani has been carefully preparing for this moment. He spent the past election season accumulating a reservoir of good will among Republicans, campaigning hard for Republican candidates from Oregon to New Hampshire. He was particularly adept at raising money for those candidates and has established himself as one of few presidential hopefuls capable of raising the $100 million or so that is seen as necessary to win the White House. At the moment, he is getting help from Anne Dickerson, who ran President Bushs highly successful Pioneer and Ranger fundraising machine in 2004.
Giuliani has allied closely with Bush & Co. He made a high profile speech at the 2004 Republican National Convention and has gone on the road to stump with President Bush. There has also been speculation, started by the Washington Post's Kathleen Parker, that Ken Mehlman, the outgoing Republican National Committee chairman and former Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign manager, will be joining the Giuliani camp.

The next president must be tough enough to win. Guiliani is the only one on the horizon I see with the necesary toughness.
People act as though Bush won two huge landslides rather than an electoral victory and a small popular vote. They seem to believe those wins means the nation is ready for far Right policies down the line.
Well JC won't be doing those stories.
We'll see, you may be right the Party may have sunk to the point a pro-abortion, anti-Second Amendment candidate can get nominated. Im more optimistic than that.
Just dont complain if you manage to nominate Rudy and the Democrats win the Presidency. If the Republican Party isnt going to be a conservative party theres no reason to vote for them.
Then you have to come up with a candidate capable of beating him and I have not heard one that comes close who doesn't have equal numbers of people declaring they hate him: McCain and Romney.
However, Guiliani is not defined by his policies as Mayor of NYC in any case and is far too smart to believe they will get him elected elsewhere.
His is a leader capable of pulling the nation together behind him and is tough enough to take on the Treason Media and the Party of Treason.
Sadly, it would probably take another 9-11 to put him ahead. I think he would be a great asset to anyone a little closer to the Senate, but I just don't see Rudy accepting the #2 spot.
The law charged Scott Peterson with the murder of TWO People so it is simply false that the life of an unborn baby is not protected.
The tag is false for another reason as well; there was nothing in the federal constitution preventing abortion's legality in the States. Thus, Roe would in no way prevent States from allowing abortions and most would allow some form of abortion.
It is less important what the media reveals than how the candidate handles it. Rudy has faced the most hostile press in the country and kicks it around. Expecting a leader to emerge who only appeals to your maiden aunt Tilly is not realistic.
Besides is he going to be hit with charges of cocaine useage and drunken driving revelations? They won't work.
Dear justshutupandtakeit,
"The law charged Scott Peterson with the murder of TWO People so it is simply false that the life of an unborn baby is not protected."
The law charged him with the murder of two people because the baby's mother had decided that the baby was a baby, and not merely a product of conception to be terminated.
The intrinsic rights of the baby certainly are not protected. Rather, the woman's desire is protected. If she desires to call the baby a baby, then those that harm the baby may be prosecuted. If she desires to have the baby killed, then the baby will be killed.
Where is the protection of the rights of the BABY? Only the interests of the woman are protected.
"The tag is false for another reason as well; there was nothing in the federal constitution preventing abortion's legality in the States. Thus, Roe would in no way prevent States from allowing abortions and most would allow some form of abortion."
Wrong again. My tagline says that if Roe is not overturned, no unborn child will ever be protected in law.
It doesn't say that if Roe is overturned, all, some, or any unborn child will ever be protected in law.
Overturning Roe is a necessary condition to protecting unborn children in law. Unfortunately, it is not a sufficient condition.
It will only be the beginning.

Conservativism seems to be a meaningless label. Don't 2/3s of the people claim they are "conservative"? You know that cannot be true unless they perversely vote against themselves.
Your definition probably only covers 10% of the party at best and maybe not even that.
The critical point is will you protect this nation that is the only "conservative" position which is required at this point. If it is not protected none of the others will even be a question. The other conservative positions are extras: low taxes, justices, Pro-life, Pro-2d. They cannot be addressed definitively unless the Nation is protected.
That is before he directs any fire in her direction.
A zygote isn't a "baby". It is the law which made that determination in Conner's case not his mother.
What he did to her, he did very publicly. Cruel B@st@rd.
There is nothing to say that Rudy would be any better protecting the nation than a conservative. In fact Rudy's history of making New York a santuary for illegal aliens would suggets that a conservative would be more likely to keep the nation safe.
You may remember it was illegal aliens who flew planes into the World Trade Center.
Your information on the breakup of the Giuliani marriage is totally inaccurate.
He kicked her to the curb, and flaunted his married mistress in public.
There were pictures of him and his mistress in the daily tabloids. His wife tried to shelter their children from all of this, and make their lives as normal as possible.
I'm a New Yorker, and I remember the situation very clearly.
This is true. Rudy forbid public employees from reporting illegal aliens.
Rudy Giuliani is not going to win the nomination, pure and simple.
Nice to know we didn't have the only dumb state! :)
Go research what he did to NYC and how he cut Government but no it is better to post without facts. He is no big government person which is why the NY unions hate him.
