Giuliani has been carefully preparing for this moment. He spent the past election season accumulating a reservoir of good will among Republicans, campaigning hard for Republican candidates from Oregon to New Hampshire. He was particularly adept at raising money for those candidates and has established himself as one of few presidential hopefuls capable of raising the $100 million or so that is seen as necessary to win the White House. At the moment, he is getting help from Anne Dickerson, who ran President Bush’s highly successful Pioneer and Ranger fundraising machine in 2004.
Giuliani has allied closely with Bush & Co. He made a high profile speech at the 2004 Republican National Convention and has gone on the road to stump with President Bush. There has also been speculation, started by the Washington Post's Kathleen Parker, that Ken Mehlman, the outgoing Republican National Committee chairman and former Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign manager, will be joining the Giuliani camp.

Gulliani is ok for many positions...but for president? He is just too LIBERAL on social issues... and values voters can not vote for him, imho.
He's ducked two chances to run against Hillary for a lesser office. Why should we give a balding, middle-aged white guy who has trouble controlling his zipper the nomination for the big cahuna?
I only vote for pro-gun candidates. No way I would ever vote for Rudy or McPain.
The number one thing Rudy has done to keep himself viable as a candidate is keep his mouth shout about what he believe in. At some point he'll have to start talking and Conservatives will turn their back on him and walk away.
I love Rudy....I would much prefer him over Hillary.
But I cannot - in good conscience - vote for him.
I know you said Rick was bruised, but look at Clinton's path to the White House.
But if enough Republican voters in those states are convinced the party needs to moderate, he has a shot.
Otherwise, I don't see them helping to nominate a guy who, during his ugly divorce, lived with a gay couple and referred to one of them as "mother".
I watched Rudy on C-Span Sunday night and was reminded of how humorous and likable he is. He would make minced meat of Hillary.
Also, one of Rudy's greatest strengths is that he explains complex issues in very simple terms. The times we are living in call out for such a communicator.
I've got a better chance of winning the Republican primaries than Rudy.

No he hasn't. Newt hasn't divorced #3 yet. Rudy is already over his third. Neither one has the moral character to be a President. There is really no argument.

That will be difficult if half of them evacuate the liberal leaning GOP by the end of 2007. At the rate the GOP is going, there will be no religious right base. No one in that group will endorse a candidate in favor of abortion, partial-birth abortion, homosexual marriages, or amnesty for illegal immigrant invaders.
Ya know not for nothing, but I AM trying to plan a wedding here. I can't believe Rudy had to go with this just now. LOL
