House Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi's endorsement of Rep. John P. Murtha's bid for House majority leader set off a furor yesterday on Capitol Hill, with critics charging that she is undercutting her pledge to clean up corruption by backing a veteran lawmaker who they say has repeatedly skirted ethical boundaries.
Pelosi (D-Calif.) directly intervened in the heated contest between Murtha (D-Pa.) and House Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) on Sunday by circulating a letter to Democratic lawmakers. The letter voiced her support for Murtha and put her prestige on the line in a closely fought leadership battle. Some Democratic lawmakers and watchdog groups say they are baffled that Pelosi would go out of her way to back Murtha's candidacy after pledging to make the new 110th Congress the most ethical and corruption-free in history.
Murtha, a longtime senior Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee, has battled accusations over the years that he has traded federal spending for campaign contributions, that he has abused his post as ranking party member on the Appropriations defense subcommittee, and that he has stood in the way of ethics investigations. Those charges come on top of Murtha's involvement 26 years ago in the FBI's Abscam bribery sting.

well that didn't take very long now did it....
Pelosi lied and the press denied...
The reason that Missus Pelosi wants Murtha the Mouth in that position is to back her up for troop withdrawal...the more people that support her 'list' the better chance she has of getting what she wants done....
If you have a republican senator or congresscritter, write them and hope they can get enough support to stop her...
Gee, did Stretch step in it already? It will be interesting to watch how many times she will soil her shoes without the MSM noticing.
I suggest we start acting like we are concerned Democrats, call her office and say this is not a good move if we want to win in 08.
Then we should flood the TV networks and say, where is the outrage over Murtha, REid, and Pelosi's questionable affairs!
I guess ABSCAM might be catching up?
Your on to something there!!!! That is the answer, we need to do this....I never even thought of acting like that...been a republican all my life and can't stand the rats, guess that's why...lol...
In my case I have baby casey jr..... who doesn't know up from down unless fast eddy is there to show him; and specter-D, who is a blooming idiot....I'm sure they'll help....(cough, cough)
"This is like a high-school election," the official said. "People inside the Beltway will buzz about it for a week, but then no one will remember what happened."
You'd better hope so. So far, it's been getting nothing but more attention. Just wait until the "Hastings bastings" begin.
Let us now turn our attention to the case of the MSM's Republican golden boy for the 2008 election, the sea green, incorruptible John McCain, Vietnam War Hero. There have been quite a few rumblings in the alternative media, particularly NewsMax, about his psychological instability, problems with his first marriage, and how he treated his first wife, none of which has received any significant MSM coverage. What do you all want to bet that, just after he gets the Pubbie nomination, if he gets it, the MSM will suddenly discover all the horrific details of his health, both physical and mental, and the vile way he treated his first wife, giving him a genuine "Macaca Moment?" Then the Witch will simply walk into the presidency. That's precisely why we can't believe the early polls that show him running strongly against her are in any way a true measure of his electability.
Let the Games begin!
LOL Let the games begin!
Let us all pray for Majority Leader Murtha.
Murtha, Hastings...... leaders
Most honest Congress in History
Indeed. Unless we are pretending to be Democrats (such as MrRights has suggested) we need to let the Rats destroy themselves. So Murtha becomes House Majority Leader, then his scandals become juicier for the press. If not, then fratricide amongst the Rats starts before they even officially take power in the Congress.
It should be an interesting two years, one that dramatically improves our chances in 2008 (sorry, but 2000 and 2004 were just a bit too close for me), as America sees that the Rats are the gang that can't shoot straight.
