"I think Santorum also lost a lot of mojo with his suport of Specter over Toomey. Look what it got him."Since the election I have talked to an awful lot of people here, mostly ones who vote Conservative, mainly because I wanted to find out why Santorum lost the Senate race.
What I have heard time and again is that they did not vote at all in this race or they just stayed home, all because of Santorum's vote for Specter instead of Toomey.
I almost did the same thing myself until I realized just how bad it would be without Santorum. While we may not agree with their stand, a lot of conservatives in this state felt betrayed and voted accordingly.

Sphincter you idiot! They did move to the middle and hence the wipe-out!!!
To: Post-Neolithic
Thanks for the confirmation of my suspicions. Santorum will be missed.

Who needs Dems when we have Republicans like this!
Sad state of affairs when even the Republicans don't know why they were voted out.

We are urging you to move out of Washington. You do not meet our needs, you are a has been, totally irrelevant to us.
Don't give us your thoughts, share them with your rat friends, they love them. We despise them and you.
p.s. we sincerely hope you are reading this!

Yep. Spector is the reason the need for term limits
To: LibLieSlayer
Actually, Ford was every bit as liberal as Specter.

As a party activist for close to 10 years, I can say without a doubt I would become a Conservative Independent and start spending my time on things other than politics if the Republican party abandons Reagan's principles.

The mention of Ford is quite appropriate at this time. We are pretty much back to where we were in 1974... 30+ years of conservative progress was essentially thrown out the window by the 'moderate' element of the GOP.
The sheer gall of this a-hole to suggest we need more of what led to our slaughter on Tuesday is beyond belief! Death to all 'moderates'!

Feels like it's lasted for about seven days instead of seven hours...

Mr. Specter, a five-term Republican, in January will pass his gavel on the Senate Judiciary Committee to Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt... Two dinosaurs.

Many of the "republicans" have already moved to the left. However, I can think of maybe two Democrats who have slightly moved to the right.
There are now plenty of pro choice and same sex union "republicans". One ran for governor in Illinois and lost. One is thinking about running for president and one was a mayor.
Massive spending, amnesty, and half ass measures on our foreign policy. I would say that is very left like.
