Lott Will Make Leadership Bid (Seeks Minority Whip Position vs Lamar Alexander)

As rumored since last year, Political Wire has learned that Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) will run for Senate Minority Whip. He launched a "quiet campaign" just before the midterm elections in anticipation that the previous holder of the position, Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), would lose his re-election race.
However, Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) declared last week he has lined up the votes for the leadership post.

Pete Sessions isn't in the Senate, he's a House member from Texas.
You must mean Jeff Sessions, Senator from Alabama.

Sorry, missed that someone had already corrected you.

Go away, Trent, you spineless weasel. Nobody asked you. You were worthless the first time around. I don't know who was worse at this job - you or Frist.
Bush said it - you don't get do-overs.

Lott the compromiser! What a heaping pile of hot, steamy horse pucky.
Never forget, he actually helped compromise away Clinton's removal from office after the impeachment. What a weasel.
However, I am not surprised. It's typical Republican SOP to have worthless people like him in leadership.
Lott should be selling snake oil or used cars, not enriching himself at the expense of the public he falsely represents. For many years, when the Republicans called me and requested monitary support, I would tell them "HELL NO! Not until you get Lott out of your party." I never gave a dime to the party after the Clinton fiasco and until he was removed from office.

Frist promised a lot when he was elected to replace Lott but he turned out to be a major disappointment. One would think Lott is better than Frist atleast he must learnt a fair bit. It would preferable if Mitch Mcconnell takes over the job as senate minority leader.

You should apologize to snake oil and used car salesmen.
Lott is a snake with no spine.
Does that make him a worm?

***Anyone is a step up from Bill Frist. Is he still going to run for the GOP nomination?***
Thats what I said when Frist took over from Lott the first time.
I was wrong.

Loot is arrogant beyond embarrasment.
He has the typical senate contry club mentality and thinks he knows better how you should live your life than you do.
He is out of touch with the base and the electorate.
Win or lose, Lott has announce he intends to be a player possibly for the vp slot.

Frist has became a symbol of the ineffectual GOP. Yeah, for POTUS. I'll write in Elton John before Frist, just for the entertainment value.
To: RWR8189
Why bother having a Senate Minority Whip. There is going to be no leadership in the Senate. They should just be honest and leve the position vacant. There will be no noticeable differences.
