Free Republic is getting enough published authors that a FR showcase of the output thereof would be both informative and interesting.

And helpful. The publishing world seems to be a bit of a closed society. One of the keys to entry appears to be endorsement by an already-published author. As we FReepers seek to influence the culture through the printed word, giving each other a "hand up" would seem wise and appropriate.

(disclaimer: I too have recently finished writing a book and am actively seeking a publisher or representation by a literary agency, so yes, I have some selfish motives for endorsing your proposal - but that's just Adam Smith's invisible hand working in the marketplace, each of us seeking our own good benefits the whole)
