Salute to both of you!

I hope that you find a good publisher that can give your insights a wide readership. I don't think any other question of the day has such vast import.

Beware the forces of cacophony that will be arrayed against you because they too understand the seriousness of this struggle even as they misjudge its final outcome.

God bless you.

There should be a 'Classics Illustrated' version... for those who are 'text-challenged'.

LOL! That was my thought exactly - I still have a 'Classics Illustrated' collection from childhood.

It's been over 2,000 years since that child was born. Science grew up.

I'm gonna make a quote all for you, w.

"Those who do not remember history, are condemned to repeat it."

And here's your new quote:

"Those who do not remember that science is the child of philosophy, are condemned to serve Islam..."

I did a book report from a Classics Illustrated back in grade school... I believe I got a 'B' too!

Free Republic is getting enough published authors that a FR showcase of the output thereof would be both informative and interesting.

"Reason, logic, and the materialist presupposition are all that is required to unlock the secrets of nature."

But as noted, this is a faith statement, not a scientific one.

Ha ha! Fun! Reminds me of the statement by John Pilkinghorne: "The water is boiling because the gas is lit and heating up the kettle. It is also boiling because I want a cup of tea."
My paraphrase of course but you get the point. The idea that science exists in a vacuum unto itself is a metaphysical statement and should be identified as such. So often science is used to make assertions that the metaphysical does not exist or if it does it is irrelevant. My conclusion is that while science and faith are separate they are, can and should be complimentary.

Know that I am very interested in your book so keep me informed as things progress. Betty we met at Doc-on-the-Bay's party years ago.

"To get a grip on how profoundly The Arian Heresy gripped the western imagination, its helpful to understand that the deepest reason that Melville began Moby Dick with the words "call me ismael" is that Melville was not a trinitarian."

You don't happen to have a scintilla of proof to substantiate this claim do you?

I tried Googling this, to see if anybody else has come to this bizarre conclusion -- and no. All the hits lead straight back to you. This seems to be an obsession with you.

Funny none of the Melville scholars ever heard of it.

You've pegged the Eastern-rite Catholics incorrectly, dear one. Jerusalem is all-sufficient to speak of the East's contribution, and for Byzantine Catholics mention of Athens and Rome speaks to a historical reality we all embrace.

And helpful. The publishing world seems to be a bit of a closed society. One of the keys to entry appears to be endorsement by an already-published author. As we FReepers seek to influence the culture through the printed word, giving each other a "hand up" would seem wise and appropriate.

(disclaimer: I too have recently finished writing a book and am actively seeking a publisher or representation by a literary agency, so yes, I have some selfish motives for endorsing your proposal - but that's just Adam Smith's invisible hand working in the marketplace, each of us seeking our own good benefits the whole)

God bless you, dear Pietro, for your sympathetic understanding of what is at stake here. The recent "regime change" in Washington is worrisome, as it seems clear that some very hard Lefties -- the "Hate/Blame America First" crowd -- are about to ascend to positions of real power.

As for me, I've been humming "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" to myself these past several days....

Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement!

Absolutely, ThirstyMan!

Of course I remember you, from Doc's wonderful party at Manomet! What a lovely day that was! We New England FReepers should get together again some time soon.

Thank you so much for your kind words ThirstyMan!
