What's the secret for having Ubuntu detect your wifi card?
I just loaded the latest MEPIS (80% of Ubuntu) and I can't get the little green light to even turn on on the back of the WIFI card?

Do you have a Broadcom card? If so, here are some links.

What type of chipset does your wifi card use? If you don't know, enter "lspci -v" at a command prompt. It will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about what hardware you have.

download a little program called ndiswrapper. It'll allow you to use your proprietary windows drivers, which you will have to recover from your Windows partition or your card manufacturer.
Precise instructions can be found by searching the ubuntu forums and wiki. :)
