The man arrested on Saturday for sending more than a dozen envelopes containing "fake anthrax" to anti-war celebrities, journalists, and politicians may have ties to the conservative supersite Free Republic, RAW STORY has found.
Chad Castagana, a 39 year old Californian named as the FBI's prime suspect in the case, is due in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles today, where procecutors are expected to file criminal complaint against him for sending threatening letters through the U.S. mail. Castagana has an extensive online history, often writing about science fiction and conservative politics, and many bloggers are convinced that he is also a contributor at the conservative activist Free Republic website under the name Marc Costanzo.
Earlier today, users at the liberal websites Democratic Underground and Daily Kos brought to light the similarities between Castagana's Internet footprint and Costanzo's writings at Free Republic, and RAW STORY has found a series of eyebrow-raising connections between the two men.

That's the way it used to be (for starting new threads, anyway).
Section 19 may contain evidence of Freeperhood by the suspect. He apparently wrote:
"Rosenberg's = Liberal Journalist's = Benedict Arnold's = Judas's".
Since being at FR I have noticed that many Freepers use the singular possessive incorrectly, when they are just trying to indicate a simple plural form. HMMMMMM.....
Unfortunately, that is a situation that is EPIDEMIC everywhere today. I'm not sure why, but I guess they don't teach proper use of apostrophes any more.
Was that post here on FR? I think remember that post exactly. I don't remember the topic or subject of the thread, but I remember that post and I was thinking to myself something like, "what an idiotic comment!"
So, He must have been under surveillance.
Seems he must have done something prior to this incident to warrant the FBI's interest.
Oh my gosh, was it? No, I took that from the affadavit. UH oh.
According to the affadavit, it was typewritten on a piece of brown paper in the powder-filled envelope sent to Keith Olbermann.
For a few moments I didn't know what you meant. I thought you meant my edits. I personally haven't edited anything about FR at the Wikipedia site. I now see that you mean, whenever anybody edits an article or entry, they usually have to have a source or citation to back up their claim. And, yes, it certainly would take a lot of time and energy to correct every inaccuracy about FR on the site, as well as to put up positive points. I hope there are some people here with the time and energy to do that.
That said, there are crazy people of all persuasions - just because this one has been known to post here doesn't mean the average freeper would condone his actions.
They can't hold a candle to the obsessed clowns at CP, who do nothing but focus on FR. "Get a life" comes to mind...
Wow--thanks for the ping. I had heard the news the other day that white powder was sent to a few individuals.
The guy turned out to be really creepy. And he also posted here as 'Costigan' according to Daily Kos

Personal Quote "Better an honest enemy, than a dishonest friend"
As I always remind my Republican friends, "It's always the right wing murdering the left wing; that's not our schtick."
Oh, and "We don't know who spread the anthrax in 2001, but I'll betcha he votes Republican."
...His posts are still here under that nic too, but banned. Note the space that always occurs before the punctuation at the end of most of his sentences.
