The man arrested on Saturday for sending more than a dozen envelopes containing "fake anthrax" to anti-war celebrities, journalists, and politicians may have ties to the conservative supersite Free Republic, RAW STORY has found.
Chad Castagana, a 39 year old Californian named as the FBI's prime suspect in the case, is due in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles today, where procecutors are expected to file criminal complaint against him for sending threatening letters through the U.S. mail. Castagana has an extensive online history, often writing about science fiction and conservative politics, and many bloggers are convinced that he is also a contributor at the conservative activist Free Republic website under the name Marc Costanzo.
Earlier today, users at the liberal websites Democratic Underground and Daily Kos brought to light the similarities between Castagana's Internet footprint and Costanzo's writings at Free Republic, and RAW STORY has found a series of eyebrow-raising connections between the two men.

About 8 minutes after you posted that,
this appeared over at DU:

Maybe it's time to give newbies limited posting privileges as discussed numerous times over the last 8 years (that I know of).

Good afternoon.
"In other words, this is evidence of a far greater conspiracy than anybody has yet realized."
A conspiracy by who against whom?
The guy sounds crazy, and busy, but there is no evidence that I can see of a conspiracy.
If the DemocRATs get the Fairness Doctrine made law there won't be a need for evidence.

Ironic, isn't it, that their thread--chock full of jokes about Freeper spelling--starts out talking about "free republic account under psyudonym marc costanzo."

No, everyone knows "psyudonym" is the new, hip, cool way to spell it, man. The dictionary is a living, breathing document, and it has to change with the times. No one spells it the old way anymore. And the teenagers these days -- hey, they run around spelling words any old kind of way -- you're not going to change that! You just have to accept it, and be ready to support them when they have to move back home at age 27 because they can't keep a real job.
This is hugh, I'm series.

I don't know if the FR article over a Wikipedia is locked or if I am blocked, because I can't seem to edit the article and remove the garbage that's up there now.

We are officially a "super-site". Keep posting people, I won't be happy until we achieve, "mega-site", and then "mondo-site" and then "super-mondo site" and then "The PEOPLE-have-spoken site" and then the "Word-of-God-has-it site", "Carl Rove marching-orders site".
But we all have to start somewhere, I guess, so super-site will do just fine this week. Now get cracking on improving our rating/rankings. You aren't doing your job if you haven't got a talking-head right-wing-wacko-shill TV/radio announcer to spew the diatribe of at least one of your threads. You haven't even broken a sweat until you've started a radical right-wing boycott. You aren't even worthy of spit until you've destroyed the career of some talented highly acclaimed thespian/singer, you aren't worthy of the title "Pajamamuhadeen" until you've annihilated the career of an extremely respected journalist with impecable credentials ("Fake but accurate", you you aren't even worthy to read those words).
Mere Freeper neophytes should be able to shred the Chewbacca Defense with one brain tied behind their back. I want to hear liberals heads exploding all across this country people. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?!?!?
"Super-site", harumpf, if that's all we are, then we've already lost. We will not have won until GWB himself is seeking solicitations in various vanity postings for advice on what he should do next.
ROFLMAO! Super-site...
It does have a nice ring to it though, don't it?

It slays me to read FR critics bitching about navigating FR. Here's one DUmmie's take:
Freeper threads: How in the hell do you read them? I really don't get it. At all. I know the replies don't tab in to each other, so you can't see who is replying to what, but there seems to be something more to it that I must be missing.
This presents me with a quandary: do I explain how to do it to illustrate how stupid they are, or do I leave them to their ignorance (lest more be attracted here to read)?

The FR entry is basically just one big slam on FR...the Criticism section is comparatively huge.....the longest I've seen at Wiki. But there's no lock and no dispute. Yes, you're right. Just went over there to check it out. I had somehow missed most of the controversies. Why isn't somebody correcting the inaccuracies and misperceptions? The whole entry sounds like it was written by a DU-er. And such a HUGE section on a relatively unknown poster (totally unknown to me), Marc Costanzo. That could only be written by an agenda-driven DU-er. Somebody needs to go to the site often, and check for inaccurate statements.

I've found that the implanted chip has been a real time saver and has increased my FRefficiency. Now I receive my pings at all hours of the day or night and there aren't any activities that interfere with FReeping. I'm hoping I'll be accepted for beta testing the upgrade that will allow me to pilot a predator drone over liberal areas of the country to help with surveillance.

I'll bet. Must be hair-raising at times, too. I've been on un-moderated boards and it's a free for all. I'm sure I speak for the vast majority of Freepers when I say thanks to all of you "Mods" for a job well done.
