You are right about cartoons. I can name off of the top of my head about 5 or 10 shows that feature a nerdy smart black kid: Malcolm in the Middle, Danny Phantom, Lazytown, etc.
I also dig the print ads I saw for the credit card/identity theft series. I think it was in National Review. 1. A respectable, elderly black man wearing a business suit stands next to a bunch of surfboards, I think, and the ad reads something like, "Yeah, we thought it was strange, too." See? White surfer steals black man's credit card. 2. Elderly, besuited, Asian woman stands next to a monster truck... You get the message. Here's the one I'm gonna write. Dorky white guy stands next to a crack pipe, a stack of Black Male magazines, and a welfare check.
Typical put down of education for black people. The nerdy black kid is nerdy because he's pursuing an education. To be cool, black kid's gotta be ghetto, yunnastan?
