If you didn't buy gas on Election Day, it probably costs more by now.
At the Union 76 in Scotts Valley, regular sold for $2.30 per gallon Tuesday morning. By the afternoon, the price was $2.36. And it had increased to $2.42 as of Thursday.
The turnabout came after months of falling prices that began this summer.
"I think it's because of the election," said Paul Sams, a cashier at Valero, where the price has increased to $2.38 per gallon.

**********I wonder who Jondi Gumz voted for in 2005?*********
^^^^^^^^^^^^Well, Paul is an idiot.^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The term "useful idiot" comes to mind.
The best kind for media activists.
Right. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact many states have regulations dictating the change in additives for the months of November through February.
>>Gas prices as a rule of thumb always go way down in the latter part of the year.<<
Today is November 13. That is what I call the "latter part of the year. Yet prices here have gone up twice since the election less than a week ago. I started a thread on it the day after the election and the response I got nationwide was that prices had a VERY significant bump the day after the election all over the country.
Maybe it is just coincidence. Maybe not. If not, I do not know what or who exactly is behind it.
Useful to whom? Certainly not me.
Nah! It's Rove manipulating the price to punish Americans for the election results.
I'd encourage you to read this.

Who did you vote for in 2005? There's a specific reason I'm asking this question. Look at the enclosed chart. Gas prices normally go down(and of course back up) this time of year.
The chart is from the department of energy.
The dates don't lie. But the media does.
LOL, I know. Rove is soooooo good that he can control not only gas prices, but also the price of chavez' oil. Everybody in the industry is idiots and these dictators are rovian tools.
*chuckles*

Price increase seems just local!
I don't see a year by year correlation on that chart. Correlations could be inferred from it but it would be a stretch to say any month is the same as a year ago, and the year before that.
Compare any two month period between years. There is really no correlation other than what one would want to infer.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying anyone is manipulating things now. What I am saying is that this chart is not the evidence I would use to refute such a claim.
I asked him why they didn't lower the prices more, or earlier in the year. No answer.
There are some serious kooks out there.
what a perfect opportunity for the candy givers to remove all taxes from gasoline
yes cold day in hell indeed
Sounds reasonable.
But you're never gonna convince me they didn't buy out the 100 mpg carbuerator!!! ;)
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You'll *never* see that one in the liberal media.
^^^^^^^^^^I don't see a year by year correlation on that chart.^^^^^^^^^^^^
You don't see the "9/2005" entry on that chart? See it going down?
Even if you look at "9/2004" and it becomes somewhat clear that the prices *wanted* to go up before they did but were held back by various things that happen late in the year. Lower demand being one of them. As others have posted, refinery maintenance, gas blending, and etc.
^^^^^^^^^What I am saying is that this chart is not the evidence I would use to refute such a claim.^^^^^^^^^
I personally find the media's coverage to be an issue too. When the prices go down, not a peep. When they go up, it's some big conspiracy.
The chart is good because it shows the price dip in 2005 when there was no election.
I know. Very rarely does the liberal media talk about the unleaded gas futures market. It exists, but it hurts the evil conservative game that they so love to play.
