Unfortunately, it's all too true.

Maybe we should start one of our own "million man march" type of thing, and all go to Mexico, and demand citizenship, rights, etc....

Sorry Dane, but that would be our OBL divider Bush. I, on the other hand, voted a straight R ticket and immiediately following the loss, Calderone was invited to lunch. No coincidence, I'm sure.

LOL, and Bush didn't? You're a hoot Dane. Besides, much as I've always disliked Dobbs, I can't blame Dobbs for taking the initiative on this, but I can blame your hero for siding with the Pelosi's, Kennedy's and other OBLers on it. Looks like you're in 'good company', lol.

Just out of curiosity Dane, have you ever once held Bush accountable or responsible for anything?

Don't get me wrong. I voted GOP, but I am frustrated by the stupidity of the free traders. They think they can use wedge issues to cover the ill effects of free trade on their Reagan Democrat supporters. When CAFTA passed I knew many GOP in rural southern, and midwest districts were in big trouble. When the Sec of Labor writes an report stating "outsourcing of jobs is good for the economy" and the GOP Congress was attempting to expand the numbers of H-1B workers allowed, I knew 2006 was going to be a rough year, especially we when our control of Congress hung by 15 seats. I anticipated that we would hold the Senate by very narrow margins. The GOP better start thinking who is more important, the lobbyist from the Chamber of Commerce or the blue collar Reagan Democrats who vote. Otherwise the Dems will hold office in 2008 and beyond.

Look, read your history, revolutions are not fought on empty stomaches.

No, but they are started by empty stomaches.

When enough illegals have taken enough jobs from everyday Americans, the revolution WILL start.

Excellent point. Question - will the GOP free traders get it or will they scratch their arses after losing election after election to the Dems?????

Get used to saying, "President Clinton", again.

I could be, and hope I am, wrong but right now, that stocked cave in the backwoods is looking mighty good.

I've been hearing a lot on the MSM about how immigration is a no win issue for repubs but I think thats one of the main things that sunk the republicans. Remember, even though the house was for strong enforcement, to the average Joe and Jane who only pay attention to politics around election time, the president's attitude towards any issue is the party's attitude. In this case Bush's pro-amnisty, pro-guest worker , half hearted attempts at enforcement cemented the idea that the entire GOP is soft on the issue. I'm always surprised by people I talk to on the issue, who see their wage scale declining, who are fed up to the gills with "Pressing #1 for English" glad the republicans got dumped because they were "pro illegal". GWB really flubbed this issue and in the process lost control of congress.

Remember a large number of people have no clue what Teddy, Jon and Nancy really stand for, but unless you're living under a rock everyone knows the president's (and by extension the president's party) stand on an issue.

I have a feelong that congressmen and senators who vote for amnesty might not win their next election, and damn well they shouldn't.

I also voted straight Republican Dane. I think you will find that most freepers did.

I said a long time ago around here that Republicans had missed a great opportunity on illegal immigration. They let the rats steal the issue in many elections.

The reason many Republicans stayed home is that they aren't as informed as we are and reacted negatively to Bush's amnesty proposals. It has been a constant drum beat.

Many voters voted agains Bush in this election or just didn't show up to vote.

Put the blame where it lies.
