Its actually more than 3 ways. They do not produce nor write their own music. Early reviews of the album said over 12 different "finger prints" were invloved in making this album, not included in that are the guest "rockers" they had playing instruments on it, who of course also want paid. Also, a few years back they sued their label for back royalties. Part of the settlement they agreed to requires them to pay back ALL promotional costs of the album before their royalties (20%) kick in. Considering the no holds barred promotion they rolled out for this album, which includes a partnership with msnbc and other web sites, not to mention the television ads, etc etc etc I doubt they have even covered the costs. I doubt they ever will.

>The Kennedy family will no doubt present them with a Profile in Courage award, like they did with the judge in Alabama who ordered the removal of the Ten Commandments from the courthouse.

Didn't they give Ted a Profile in Courage award for his swimming abilities? I forget.

So these chicks alienate their fans, lend themselves to political speach and now claim that they have somehow been deprived of their freedom or something?

I don't get it. I remember when Queen decided they should do disco and their album fell like a lead weight. I don't remember that they whined or made speeches or anything - they just went back to doing music their fans appreciated.

My son, a combat medic, won tickets to the chicks concert in a radio contest. He refused them on air, explaining that he is a member of the United States Military and he wouldn't touch those tickets in full MOP gear.

how can that be???? Didn't they have the #1 album for 1341 weeks since dissing their fans by saying they'd rather have fewer fans that "get it" in than share a CD changer with Toby Keith and Reba fans...bwahahahaha

I"m sure they're just rolling in money with all their album sales......not.

Since all the money is in concerts, endorsements and merchandising ..... seen any girls with Dixie Chicks shirts/posters/lunch boxes....hahahahahaha

So now this

competes with Christina aguilera

kelly clarkson

sheryl crow

doesn't even seem like a fair fight....... good luck Chicks.... ya'll gonna need it..... maybe those 300-400 fans will buy a couple of thousand t-shirts and posters each....

of course there's always the poorly served Canadian music scene. ..... this is just too funny...

Don't worry, Nancy Pelosi will appoint them to a high post in her future agenda.

It seems you also have synesthesia (in this case you listen to music with your eyes). It's a very reliable way to judge pop music.
