BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. soldiers, automatic rifles buckled to their body armor, filed into a community center in a dangerous Shiite neighborhood of north Baghdad Saturday and for a few hours became social workers, cops on the beat and referees between feuding tribesmen.

Tea was passed around, notes were taken, local sheiks spoke in wise tones, heads nodded vigorously in agreement and mundane problems such as garbage collection and distributing electricity generators were tackled.

Maj. Michael Fazio, 36, from Warwick, N.Y., pulled out a cheat sheet — photocopied snapshots labeled with long tribal names that he tried to match with faces in the room.

Let's hope everyone will remember these conditions didn't happen over night. It took blood sweat and tears to accomplish.

This makes me angry how we are being played constantly.

Hmm, the MSM reporting on Iraq has already gotten more upbeat. What a shock...

"THE MSM IS SICKENING"

No, the dimwits that believe the MSM balderdash around election time are the sickening ones. ""

But who do you blame, the cretin or the flim-flam man who cheated him???

I heard an interview with an injured soldier, who is at Walter Reed Hospital.

He is only 23...but said that 9/11 was the day he realized he would join the military.

Anyway...he said that whenever any of the troops he was with in Iraq, would come back after leave home...they would be really upset about the way it is HERE...because of all of the only negative news about Iraq...

All of the inaccuracies in the news, etc. He said it demoralized them...because they would here negative things about them..when they are all feeling positive about how far they have come...

When I hear our troops say things like that...I figure they are our best barometer...because we sure don't get the true story from the MSM or the politicians.

True, Fox News sucks. Screw fair and balanced, we need a truly conservative network.

Everyone's is biased. If you're a liberal, you'll report in a liberal manner. We need conservatives who report the news in a conservative manner and DON'T APPOLOGIZE FOR IT!

Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh could have their own show on Prime Time.

They'd cream O'Reilly's ratings. =P

A Conservative News Channel, CNC could truly be the death of the MSM and might even be the death of FOX.

I pray for our troops not only for their physical health but also their mental health for having to endure these Vietnam wannabe smelly hippie reporters.
