Seniority, schmority. Let's go for a coup!! Call your senators and DEMAND a shake up. Tell them they are next if they don't wake up and get back to the hard right!

I would be willing to support Lamar Alexander if he agrees to wear those plaid flannel shirts while on the Senate Floor. I think it is good PR and would win the GOP added support.
To: onyx
Absolutely!!!! I vote for Sessions, Coburn, Cornyn, or Chambliss, or even Ensign. Just say NO! to Alexander or Lott - - -No No NO! Now is the time to put an articulate face on the Republican party - not bumblers like Lamar or Trent.

I will just die if they put forth a mealy mouthed simp.
I am worried that Sessions and the ones you have named might have said they don't want the job.

yes...my sister in TN was such a big Lamar supporter then that she even bought one of those flannel shirts for her golden retriever to wear...he actually looked pretty sharp in it with the sleeves cut out and with it fully bottoned

I'm worrying right along w you!
You make a good point,it probably is a thankless job!
Another FReeper a post or 2 up said we need to call our Senators and demand we want a new face, etc. I agree, but I'm going to have to use Frist or borrow someone else's as mine are both Dims and 2 of the Dimmest in the Senate - -Patty Osama Mama Murray and Maria Can't-Vote-Well - -yuck!

Lott sued his insurance company last year and lost big. He was trying to collect from flood damage when he didn't have flood insurance!
He was trying to pretend that hurricane insurance is really flood insurance.

"...Lott, the king of pork..."
I thought that title went to Sheets Byrd.

John Cornyn should be the Rep. Senate leader, or Whip ... articulate, conservative, photogenic...and he'll do verbal battle with the Dems any day of the week and not back down...don't mess with a Texan ...

YES! We must write to our senators.
GOOD idea. I will start with Sessions and Lott.
I do NOT want Lott. He'd be a disaster!!!

Call and send email to the RNC, too. Ken is still around for a couple more months. Let him know that funds were held back this year because of the message (or lack thereof) and if Alexander or Lott gets ANY position in leadership, including whip, they'll be a lot less donations in the next 2 years to the RNC.
Someone ought to pass the word to Tony Snow, too.

Where did all the conservatives go? Bush replaced them with Friends of the family.

Let's flood Session's office or Coburn or whoever with calls. Let them know we want a takeover by the young and conservative! (Sounds like a a soap opera...)
