It's not that we hate illegal immigrants but we can't afford it.

Note: "small group of county govts"
the illegals will just go where its illegal friendly.
This is not solving the problem the government (Fed,State&
Local) is the problem the people in our governments are
useless.

it will all be for nothing if the 'elected' at the federal level make the illegals legal.

Any 'hint' of lawsuits coming from the legals?

Gaston County is a very conservative area of North Carolina where traditional family values reign supreme and there's a chruch on every corner -- and everybody goes to church. The arrival of illegals has thrown a wrench into this tranquility and people are fed up with it. This has traditionally been a very low crime area. But, thanks to illegals, crime is rising. And, here, as elsewhere, illegals are taking jobs from poor whites and blacks.

the all-Republican board, blames people living here illegally for a variety of social ills

No... no bias here! LOL!!! I'm surprised that they didn't say "the EVIL all-Republican board of haters, blames..."

My guess is that the Gaston County board will be "re-educated" by the National Socialist Confederation of the House and Senate (Democrat Majority). Hmmmm....via Federal funding for roads, buildings, facilities, schools, wherever Gaston County is lunching at the Federal Teat.....

""Proposals like this are not serving any purpose other than creating a hysteria in our community and feeding into the fires of this hotly debated issue around immigration," she said."

I think cutting off funds to criminal aliens does serve a purpose. I wish the federal government would act to make sure that none of these people could suck off the teat of our welfare system.

"9,500 Hispanics live in Gaston County (half of which are illegal), which has a population of about 196,000... Ortega-Moore said the resolution fails to mention the billions of dollars that illegal immigrants contribute to the economy."

Lets do the math. 2 billion divided by 4750 illegal Hispanics equals $421,052.62 each. Wow!

Perfect example of how the "system" sandbags any meaningful steps trying to deal with illegal immigration.A local municipality passes a statute trying to get a handle on the cost and increasing crime this problem creates and bureaucratic naysayers like Jeanne Butterfield, Angeles Ortega-Moore and others are quick to condemn it. Moral of story..........shut up America and keep ignoring what's going on because we're NOT going to let you do anything to solve the problem !!!

Good for Gaston County. It's got nothing to do with "hating" anyone; it's about obeying the law and serving the citizens.

Critics say the resolution only encourages hysteria over the immigration issue.

Precisely! We need a pandemic of hysteria. A wakeup call to the most serious threat facing our country.
