Liberals have been clucking non-stop since election night at the prospects of what Democrat victory means to their radical causes. In first recruiting, then funding, faith-friendly, conservative, and in a couple of instances even born-again candidates, the Democrat party captured needed numbers to swipe leadership posts. The strategy proved extremely effective. Nancy Pelosi will bring San Fran values to the Beltway debate, and Kennedy, Kerry and Clinton will clamor to be first in line.
But how did she get there? In many instances, by taking advantage of terrible Republicans and their own criminal wrongdoing. But the main strategy was to convince a needed one-fourth of the electorate that the Democrat option on the ballot was not much different than the Republican option. Winning enough of the seats to take control of both houses, Pelosi is free to assign every committee chairmanship in the House, as is Reid in the Senate, to the most disgusting and vile liberal creatures imaginable.
The strategy was so sound it was as though they had taken the ideas right out of my book, "The MuscleHead Revolution: Overturning Liberalism with Commonsense Thinking," or at the very least from the scrap notes of Karl Rove. Continues...

Putting things wildly in perspective
Here's a short list of things which haven't magically changed, even after the Rat takeover of Congress:
-- Bush is still President of the United States, and Jon Carry isn't.
-- Bush is still Commander-in-Chief.
-- Bush still has two more years as President and Commander-in-Chief.
-- Bush still has the veto pen. That veto pen means the Nancy Pelosi/Charlie Rangel/Henry Waxman/Ted Kennedy/trial lawyer/ environutter/gun-grabbing/tax-hiking agenda has zero chance of becoming law.
-- The war against Islamofacists is still on.
-- Unless Saddam's death sentence gets overturned by the 9th Circuit, the 'GOD-IS-GREAT!' screaming secular Baathist is still going to hang.
-- The Democrat Party is still a patchwork of special interest groups. These groups don't agree on much. The irony is that, rather than civil war erupting in the GOP, it's more likely to happen within the Democrat Party, since nothing will get done, which means lots of internal strife and lots of finger-pointing. The stuff these groups will be pushing for is very unpopular, which is why, before the elections, they hid Pelosi in a cave in Tora Bora.
-- The Democrat Party is still a collection of losers who haven't got a clue yet. The Dems, after a string of losses -- in 2000, again in 2002, again in 2004 -- were bound to win one. Two-term Presidents don't win both midterm elections -- just doesn't happen. And you can bet that these Dems, feeling emboldened, will spend the next two years hard at work getting the GOP back in shape for a big comeback in '08.
The 2006 midterm election was a battle, just one battle, not the war itself. The big one will be '08. We'll win that one.

The M.S.M. proved that they are much more powerful than right wing talk radio or my favorite Fox network. This fact must be factored into all future elections by all, especially the Republicans.

Correct! DEMMEDIA won this election by relentlessly campaigning against Bush and Republicans since election day of 2000.
And right wing radio hosts are not all on the same page either - creating scenarios that do not play well with the majority of non-politically interested voters.
We have to hold on to the hope that the huge mass of Americans are more conservative than liberal/socialist.
I've gotta tell everybody, I feel a great sense of relief after the elections. It's a very odd feeling but, for now, I don't feel on hyper alert that my party (repubs) will make a mistake or whathaveyou. NOW, the dems are in the spotlight, they have to perform and they will fail miserable. And for the first time in a while, I get to sit in the audience, with my popcorn, and watch the implosion.
As much as none of us wanted to lose Tuesday night, this is EXACTLY what needed to happen to strengthen our party. And I, for one, LOVE IT as I feel like we will steam roll thru 08 w/ true conservatives.
And, on one hand of course, I worry that their policies are hugely detrimental to the USA (and they definitely are) but on the other hand I see them getting no where except showing the American people what they are really about and what their PLAN finally is.
That's one of the funniest one-liners I've seen this cycle.

He is wildly inaccurate when he claims that Rick Santorum would not be opposed if he were nominated to the SCt because of Senate customs and courtesy to previous Senators.
Byrd, the keeper of the Senate code, will find a way to let them.

OH YEAH .. AS FOR PELOSI DISAPPEARING - SHE HAD A FACE LIFT! I guess she got tired of seeing those horrid pictures of herself with the wild-eyed look. Whoever she went to deserves a lot of credit - it's a great job.
LOL..... yep, it was even funny to me at around 4:00 a.m. with a nasty hangover .......... a hangover which is still hanging over.

A very measured and reasonable assessment, JohnHuang2. Too many people around here are acting like this is the end. While the issues are serious, the democrats haven't won anything yet in terms of enacting their agenda; there's another election that has to be won in 2008 before they can do that.
They're going to be a nuisance for the next two years and the WOT will suffer some setbacks due to needed legislation that won't be passed, but it's still manageable. Now, if they manage to take the White House in 2008, then it might really all be over... (only half-kidding here.)
The worst thing is that nothing can be done for two more years to stop the illegal immigration hemorrhage, but maybe some shrewd conservative can make that into a winning issue in 2008. In that regard, I'll be glad to see Bush gone.

You can't blame Romney, Weld.. Ma house and senate are all dems. Dems have controlled everything in MA for far too many years and it will not change. Sensible people are leaving MA and the greyhairs (which by the way I am one) & Low income/poor need the hand outs. Ma Teachers/unions are very very strong and get there way thier. Oops,... I'm grayhair not Dem and don't live in MA cause we moved out long time ago.

I mean of a more personal nature. National Enquirer material. Foley-gate, Lewisnky-gate, Ken Lay style scandals. Hard to believe that the national press corp is immune to these things.
