Bush screwed up the War big time. Either go in with massive, overwhelming, crushing force, be ruthless and end all opposition in a few weeks or don't go.

No, "shock and awe" was a joke. Targeted empty buildings in the middle of the night didn't "shock and awe" anybody who was used to their own government dragging them out of bed and into torture rooms. As a matter of fact, if you are going to intimidate someone the very LAST thing you do is tell them that you are trying to intimidate them. Thats giving away the whole show. Naming it "shock and awe" was a sign of weakness....not strength.
When Ghenghis Khan took over Iraq he didn't name it "shack and awe". He just killed anybody who caused his troops trouble (and the village that harbored them) and then left it up to the inhabitants to decide if they were shocked and awed or not.
