Michael Savage gets a lesson in politics 101

Posted on 11/10/2006 3:00:44 PM PST by RussP

I actually liked Michael Savage at one time, but now I am embarrassed for him every time I hear him (which is not often). The guy has become a clueless loon.

To show off his "independence," he refused to endorse Republicans. Fantastic, Michael! Then the day after the election it finally occurred to him that a Democratic Congress is now empowered to work with Bush on his amnesty program for illegal immigrants!

What kind of moron could not figure that out *before* the election?

Thanks a lot, Michael, for sitting on your hands and doing nothing when it counted most to help stop illegal immigration. You're a true patriot, but not a very bright one!

Michael calls Rush Limbaugh a shill for the Republicans, but Rush figured out *before* the election that (1) Bush is not on the ballot, and (2) if the Republicans don't win Congress, the Democrats will. In other words, Rush passed politics 101 a long time ago, but Michael never did.

I happened to be listening yesterday when a caller tried to point this out to him. How did Michael reply? He couldn't argue rationally, so he resorted to his usual 3rd-grade-level name calling and telling the guy to change his underwear. I kid you not.

Ironically, Michael wrote a book calling liberalism a mental illness, but Michael clearly has a mental illness of his own. He has become some kind of deranged, angry clown.

So you rather fight the war politically correct?

I guess losing some of our troops is OK in your book.

We dropped two on Japan, and look at Japan today.

Let me tell you a Little story a Vet from Iraq just told me not to long ago. Its a good one, and can be applied to the entire war.

The following went on for a few days only. The bad guys would drive by a Marine base and fire RPGs or machine gun then drive away. The fire kept coming from a specific number of houses. When the Marines would investigate the locals would always say they did not know who was doing it. Well after so many days of this the Marines got tired of this. So they went back to the houses (where the fire came from) and said to those locals. If this happens any more, then we bulldoze all your homes. Guess what???? The daily drive by shootings stopped.

Now if we apply this to the entire country. I can promise you are casualty rate would go down real fast. If we just had the testicular fortitude to do this, then Iraq would probably be a lot better off. However, in the name of Political Correctness our spineless politicians will not allow this. So our troops will keep dying? This was happening under a Republican President and congress. Never thought I would see the day. I just wonder how many people have died in the name of Political Correctness?

I love Savage. He tells it like it is, and some people just cannot handle it.

Thanks to those who did not secure the borders, did not cut spending, did not police the corruption, hide Mark Foley and did not punish the Clintonista's.

If you want to place blame, place blame where it belongs.

Savage is just a talk show host, not a policy maker.

Hey genius just think of the end results. Duhhhhhhhhhhh

You are naive and why our great nation is in trouble. You trump party over conservative values. We are going from a Free Republic to a Democracy with Mob rule mentality. And that will be are ultimate downfall if we allow people like you to cave in....

The Founding fathers knew the dangers of a democracy, and this is why they were so stead fast against it.

Bingo... Love Savage! He tells it like it is, and some Republicans (not real conservatives) cannot handle it.

Nevertheless, your Rush audience should be able to cancel out all the voters from the Savage nation. Your numbers do not add up.

Obviously this conversation is way over your head. Put down your Republican Kool-Aid wake up and smell the coffee. The Republicans had 6 years to do something stupid! 6 Freaking years! However, some how its Savages fault! LOL!

Now you still have the Executive Branch. So why don't you communicate to the White House about this instead of crying about some radio talk show host that has the same opinion as you on immigration. You are getting mad at the wrong people. You should be mad at George Bush and not Michael Savage who is on your side.

You mean the Rush, who a few days ago admitted carrying the water for the Republicans? And has now seen the light? Rush is now singing the same tune as Savage.

The only difference is Savage tried to warn those about what was coming.
Rush tried to hide it from his listeners.

"Many elections were lost by a few thousand."

And you think bashing Savage and his listeners will help you in 08?

What would have helped a lot more would have been to secure the borders, to cut the out of control spending, to have punished the Clintonista's like Sandy Burglar, to have used more EXTREME force in the Iraq occupation. i.e dis-armed Al Mookie Sadr, who is causing all this internal violence in Iraq.

It was policy decisions that cost us the election. Not Savage.

Don'tcha love these posters. They say no one listens to Savage, then actually think he has the power to tilt an election. They have to blame somebody and Savage is an easy target for them.

LOL! That was a great picture. I am starting to think this is not such a conservative web site. Just hearing their arguments is making me shake my head.

Then we disagree. Personally, I don't think Savage is very insightful, and he is not pleasant to listen to either. A lot of people like him, though, so my opinion is just that. ;)

I agree..I don't think they will ever get it..Reminds me of those parents, whose children do no wrong. Actually alot of things come to mind. Nicely I'll say a house divided cannot stand and that is what happen. And as long as it does the republican party can kiss itself good-bye.

At the risk of using a politically incorrect saying: It was the straw that broke the camel's back.

This election was the republican's to lose, and they worked hard on losing. Savage did all he could to push them that last little bit to get them over the edge of the cliff.

Everyone has "the power to tilt an election." That's why we vote. If you don't have "the power to tilt an election," then why do you bother voting? Do you have a clue about how democracy works? Well, if you listen to Weiner you probably don't.

Nobody is saying that Weiner is the only one responsible for the debacle of Nov 7. That's a red herring. What we're saying is that people who think like him are responsible for turning the House over to the Dems even though the House Repubs were trying to seal the border.

Where exactly have I bashed Savage? I have observed that in my opinion his show may have made the difference in a few key elections.

This race was so heartbreakingly close that there are any number of factors that tipped it, I count Savage as one of those factors.

The fact that it was so close is purely the fault of the failures of the Republicans to earn the votes by sticking to their principles.

Nobody is blaming Savage?

You need to go back and read the posts.

That what this thread is all about. To blame Savage.
