...its former Soviet ally in the Baltic Region...

Former ally? I doubt many Estonians would agree with this characterization.

You are right...no fool at all. far from it actually.
And actually some of what he says is spot on especially in regards to islam which he ses as a dangerous threat.

That said, he needs to stop alienating potential allies on his border...if he is truly concerned about the Muzzies.

His remarks came following the Baltic state's passage on a first reading Thursday of a bill allowing the demolition of monuments to Soviet troops who died fighting Nazi forces in the Baltic republic in WWII, but who are branded as 'invaders' by many in the Baltic state today.

The Baltics own _absolutely nothing_ to the Soviet troops who were used to subjugate them for almost 50 years. Tens of thousands of people were forcibly deported to Siberia after Soviet troops 'liberated' Estonia. About half of them never returned.

The Molotov Ribbentrop pact alone should be shaming this idiot from making this kind of comment.

RIA (the source) means Russian information agency.

"Former ally? I doubt many Estonians would agree with this characterization."

More like one of the former 'captive nations' which languished behind Moscow's Iron Curtain of communist repression.
