BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A purported audio recording by the leader of Iraq's al Qaeda wing gloated over the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as a top U.S. general said the military was preparing to recommend strategy changes. Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri, said in the recording posted on the Internet on Friday that the group has 12,000 armed fighters and 10,000 others waiting to be equipped to fight U.S. troops in Iraq.
"I tell the lame duck (U.S. administration) do not rush to escape as did your defense minister ... stay on the battleground," he said.

It's quite clear how we need to fight therse cowards as well, but the will to do what must be done isn't there. Instead, we allow the enemy free access to our media, and allow our media to be used by the enemy as their propaganda tool. We allow our media to colaborate with the enemy, and we allow media to be a biased and politicaly motivated entity that will do anything, up to and including destroying this entire country, to get their way. We have more than one enemy that we should be fighting. We need to cleanse the traitors out of this country, and if we are to have a free press, they must be a patriotic free press, not bring harm to the nation and divide it's people against it. We must silence this out of control media, and fight this war as it should be fought, as all wars before this have been fought, otherwise we will never win this war.

This was the biggest risk of going in: coming out without victory. Colin Powell was right on this: you have to know what victory means before you go in. Get it over with and get out. Nation building is for fools.

Now that this tape has been released shouldn't the President come out and make some sort of a strong statement to counter this? Especially to reassure our troops that we are not giving up?
They too should be smothered with B/S, let them know on every front that their system has not generated them an economic system, education, employment, technology, supporting infrastructure and ultiamtely quality of life. that their system has failed them : that thats why they are reaching out to destroy success out of envy and inadequacy.

The only reason the strategy 'works' is that they use our own restraint against us.
Were we willing to fight the war to win, the problem areas would be parking lots and the fighting would be over.
It's not planes vs IED's. It's restraint vs non-restraint.
Yes, there are only 2 ways to fight them and win.
1. Turn entire areas of resistance into wastelands by wiping everybody out.
2. Treat dead combatants in a way that the living believe robs them of their 'virgins in heaven'.
We employ neither method.
Why do you think Saddam wants to be shot and not hung? In his mind, hanging keeps him out of 'heaven'; a firing squad does not.
I remember back during Reagan's day, the muzzies captured some Soviet diplomat. The Soviets found out who was responsible, captured their male relatives, murdered and mutilated them such that they didn't have anything for their '72 virgins' and dumped them on the side of the road. Next day, the diplomat was released and the muzzies didn't mess w/ the Soviets any more.
If I understand their culture well enough, so do those responsible for waging the war. It's not hard to figure out. We just aren't 'allowed' to win.

The problem of culture is that the islamic culture is a 'masculine' culture. They will do whatever they need to do to win. They don't care what the rest of the world thinks.
The Wester culture is a 'feminine' culture. We only do what everybody else agrees is appropriate. We care what our enemies think of us.
A feminine culture will never defeat a masculine culture in a war, no matter what you may have been taught.

In a sane world, this should send chills to the very bone of everyone who voted for a 'Rat. This is what they've done to this country, heck, this is what they've done to themselves. Is the whole country stuck on stupid????
The only "comedian" I watch these days isn't even billed as such any more--Dennis Miller is often worth a watch for his commentary on those rare times he appears, usually on Fox.
