If you're not devastated about the GOP loss, then you're in luck. According to Dick Morris, it's going to be another 20 years or more before the GOP recovers control of the Congress.

Considering that the last time they lost, they were out for 40 years, I would not be too surprised.

Gotta agree. My world just got even smaller with this election. It is now just me and my family and a few close friends, who will do whatever we have to keep ourselves safe, and continue to uphold our principals in spite of who is in congress, or the governors seat. We seldom go out anyway, prefer to see others we are aligned with, because we have to put up with being assaulted with ideals and scenes of everything from perversion to violence. This country has gone to hell in a handbasket. Our own personal worlds will not be affected, period.

If Dick Morris told me the sun would rise in the east, I'd look for at least two supporting opinions to back him up.

It will be at least 6 years, before we can try to take back the "most vulnerable" senate seats we lost this time. I dont know what 2008 senate seats are weak for the Dems in 08 yet, if there are any.

Maybe, but how could something like that possibly be predicted? These very same political experts failed miserably to predict the fall of the USSR and the rise of the GOP in 1994.

In the end, this election is a good thing. There's nothing worse than a bunch of RINOs sitting around refusing to represent their constituents and refusing to do anything that doesn't involve making them or their friends richer (in essence, acting like a bunch of Democrats). The DNC is run by total nutjobs, so the GOP figured they're easily the lesser of two evils and they could get elected by just sitting on the status quo. Nope.

If that's how they're going to do things, they'll never be elected. If they start doing conservatism instead of just talking it, they'll win a landslide and a few years from now, it'll be like this election never happened. It's their choice to either step up or go sit in the back of the bus.

If we're not smart - maybe, but Morris is famously wrong and is we're smart we'll get everything back with better people by 2010. I'm not upset at losing the RINO's... I am upset about Allen and Sanatorium. They are both genuinely good men.

Of course the last time the GOP lost control of Congress they lost it BIG (then had some serious misteps in 1964 that made it even bigger). Right now the Dems have about as much control of Congress as the GOP did after the 2000 elections, and we see just strong that level of control turned out to be.

Really given the thin control we had and the history of mid-terms this shouldn't come a suprise, history says we controled congress for 4 more years than we could have expected. Part of this loss was setup in 98 when the impeachment played so poorly with the voters and actually allowed the Dems to gain seats in a midterm, and it looks worse because the Dems so horribly misplayed 02 and allowed us to gain seats in a midterm. Had normal history played oout in 98 we might still have control today, had normal history played out in 02 we wouldn't have had control to lose Tuesday.

When Bush signs the amnesty bill the GOP will be out of power for 40 years. Impeachment is sounding good.

Dick Morris has been wrong about nearly everything.

Get out. Get involved. Stand up for conservative values and we'll throw out the socialists in 2008.

This....from a guy who PAID prostitutes to hold a leash connected to a dog collar around his neck while barking like a dog down on all fours.

Only in America could such a person re-establish himself as a credible source on national politics.

Considering the direction this country is going, 20 years from now it doesn't matter any more. There may only be one party and sharia law.

I'm hoping the 'rats go after the Bill of Rights again and ban firearms, magazine, and ammo...then maybe the real conservatives will step up again and take back the House and Senate.
