The Rats will not let him be confirmed!

Just as well, we'll go without an ambassador to the "Beast on the East River", yeah!

I believe that Lincoln Chafee (RINO-RI) was also a member of the gang of fourteen...

I read somewhere that Bolton can be recessed again, with pay, if he is concurrently appointed to another executive branch positon not requiring confirmation; so that may be the fallback position.

Even if lame duck session, how do we get around a filibuster?

I think any possible new replacements should be people that will send the dem screaming I'm thinking if they are going to drive us nuts for the next 2 years .. we should do the same

Filibuster, filibuster, filibuster. Democrats pass legislation? Hah. They taught us well how to obstruct. Do you think they'll pass the "nuclear" option?

Not sure- my brain is too frazzled to figure things o ut right now- After elction hangover & I didn't even get to enjoy embibing. Maeve- Gosh I hope that is the case- don't need more never ending obstructionism over this issue. BigSky- Yep- they've done nothign but whine and bash the President for 5 years and now all of a sudden they want his approval? President Bush should hang a sign on the outside of his office door that says- "If you're a dem- go suck an egg- maybe Russia or Chavez will help you!"

Bush doesn't need Chaffee. Dems are in on this deal. As I have been telling people, Bush did not abandon Congress. Congress abandoned Bush. If you cant get things done with your own side, you have no alternative than to work with the other side. So, a whole lot of things are going to happen that we are not going to like, in order to insure that a few things happen that we will like.

Before blaming Bush, every Conservative should remember how Congress behaved when Bush tried to fix Social Security, and remember just who left who first.

That will be up to Senatorial quislings like Graham and McCain who cost us the Senate by showing us that it was nothing more than an old boys club.

Bolton will be confirmed, and quickly. Bush traded Rummy for Bolton, and it has been planned for some time.

absolutely right.

The battle cry of "don't misunderestimate Bush" sure fell by the wayside in one day! Maybe this is the start of slowly pulling himself back up off the mat just as the ref's count hits nine.

Ding, ding, ding! The winner here. Social security was the first issue coming out of the 2004 win and the cowardly Congress ducked it. Then we had the gang of 14 pushing Bush to the mushy middle and preventing some of his judges from being confirmed.
