Bush doesn't need Chaffee. Dems are in on this deal. As I have been telling people, Bush did not abandon Congress. Congress abandoned Bush. If you cant get things done with your own side, you have no alternative than to work with the other side. So, a whole lot of things are going to happen that we are not going to like, in order to insure that a few things happen that we will like.

Before blaming Bush, every Conservative should remember how Congress behaved when Bush tried to fix Social Security, and remember just who left who first.

Ding, ding, ding! The winner here. Social security was the first issue coming out of the 2004 win and the cowardly Congress ducked it. Then we had the gang of 14 pushing Bush to the mushy middle and preventing some of his judges from being confirmed.

Yes, let's get rid of the RINO's 1 by 1 and rebuild this party.

What you said about Social Security is something that has had me angry for YEARS..

President Bush was proposing a very GOOD alternative plan to the status quo, on Soc. Sec...but, it was HIS PARTY that booed him off the stage.

I haven't forgotten that...and as angry and sad as I am over the Dems winning the Majority..it is things like THAT, that make me have that little part of me that is curious to see if any of the Congresscritters that survived do any introspection...to find out what THEY did to cause this.

Yall being drinking PD?

If you cant get things done with your own side, you have no alternative than to work with the other side.

Yes, thats real sound, ethical politics right there. NOT! You stay loyal to the party and the voters!
Nobody disliked the SS debacle more than I, but I would never play this game.

BTW, how that "working with the other side going to get us SS reform, PD? You know that ain't happening

In fact, the only thing that will be happening will be to push "immigration reform" right up the old afterburner and you know it.

I do not believe that any deal has been cut, any more than I believe in the grassy knoll, and you have Zero evidence to substantiate it.

What? You mean governing is all about...gasp...politics?

Bush doesn't need Chaffee. Dems are in on this deal

Biden is going around telling the media that the Bolton nomination is dead.

Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, the expected chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in a Democrat-led Senate, said on Wednesday he thought Bolton's nomination was "going nowhere."

"I never saw a real enthusiasm on the Republican side to begin with. There's none on our side," Biden said.

Either Biden didn't get the memo on the deal or the deal is with Chafee.

Will be an interesting vote. Even if the deal was with the Dems, Chafee has to take his procedural hold off Bolton for the nomination to go to a vote. If Chafee ends up with a cushy government job, we will all know how he got it.
