Rush Limbaugh Live Thread Thursday Nov 9, 2006

Let me see if I get this last propaganda spin lie fed to the Junk Media by the Democrats right. After the worst sort of slime bag gutter politics and demagoguery for the last 6 years suddenly we are all suppose to play nice since the Dems finally managed to lie their way back into power?

I do not think so.

They think they run things but believe or not, President Bush has a veto pen and we still have more then 40 Conservative Senators to filibuster with.

They need to get along with us. WE can stop anything they want. Let us see if Democrats are stupid enough to forget that fact

We lost a battle, the war goes on.

Arrrrgh I've been had ... that piece was satire. That said, as good satire must do, there is a large grain of truth therein and the quote I pulled certainly rings true. It has that Rovian twist to it and it certainly was the outcome.

Impact Segment
Sen. Schumer on Dem power grab
Guest: Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY)

Senator Charles Schumer, who managed the Democratic effort to win the Senate, gave his analysis of the coming changes in Washington. "We have put together a meat and potatoes platform," Schumer said. "Restoring the deduction for college tuition, getting a better prescription bill and a real energy independence policy. We know that if we don't get some things done that help everyday Americans, 2008 will be much different than 2006." As for Iraq, Schumer claimed that leading Dems will work with the administration. "We've called for a change of mission in Iraq. In a respectful way we will try to move the president from this policy of simply policing a civil war." The Factor wished Schumer and his party the best. "As an independent voter, I hope you succeed, but I don't want sleazy little investigations by hyper-partisans ripping up the executive branch for partisan political reasons."

There is going to be a lot of bashing in the days ahead. People got to their anger and frustration out. Will not be much fun around here for a while. It is part of the healing process and ugly to watch

I'd rather hear him comment on Hugh Hewitt's analysis of what we need to do to win.

Problem is, there is no evidence that Bush and the Repubs will do this, given their inability to govern as a majority the last 6 years. I hope this will change, but Bush's tone yesterday does not leave me feeling confident.

Good Morning MNJ.

Unfortunately our son has become a devoted follower of Savage and I don't know how to convince him that what he says is just B.S. It has substantially changed his attitude though after listing to Savage daily, from conservative to something else, I'm not sure what though!

That could be the best description of him that I've seen. Kudos.

May this would be a great opportunity for Fishtank to spew the "Hush Bimbo" verbal diahrea that he spews daily on the Weiner Nation thread?

How this plays out is up to us.

Conservatives have got to turn into Activists. DC hears tons of noise from the Media, they do NOT hear nearly often enough from us. The reason DC seems so divorced from reality so often is because what they hear from the noisy organized activist pressure groups is not what WE think.

I live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland, where we just had a rookie GOP governor, Robert L. Ehrlich turn a $4 BILLION deficit [ hidden from view until less than 30 days remained in Parris Glendenning's term] into a $3 BILLION surplus...by NOT raising taxes.

He also achieved passage of the decades long wait on an Inter-County Connector...keeping in mind this is a DEEP BLUE STATE full of environmentalists and other assorted tree huggers.

He got creamed because he was shown tied in agreement to President Bush....nothing else.

The encessant anti-Bush media and celebrity 24/7 took it's toll.

A perfect example of nice guys finishing last.

"Let's all work together."

Yeah, Dems have been good at that for six long years.

Shame on me for almost losing faith there. God Bless Donald Rumsfeld and God Bless GWB.

I'd thought all along that it was Rummy's idea. After all, he'd tried to resign before and the president was having none of it. I'm sure President Bush meant what he said when he said Rummy would not be going, I think he would have preffered having Rummy serve for the duration. But I can't blame Rummy for following his heart.

You haven't lost faith. We're all still angry and frustrated. God bless them both is right!
