That is one of my major concerns-- they need to know that the American people are going to stand behind them and that the election results will not change that.

Wrong perspective. The troops know that the American people didn't stand behind them the one time it really counted.

When was that? I certainly don't believe that the electorate made that statement on Tuesday.

Such hyperbole! Seems to me the American electorate stood shoulder to shoulder with the troops in both 2002 and 2004, the latter presidential election being a lot more important than 2006.

Yes, we are all disappointed. And, yes, we need to vent.

But further divisiveness is not going to make the troops safer, today or tomorrow. The election is over.
