You forget that if Bush had had his way, we wouldn't have Alito. We'd have Harriet Miers.
It was conservatives who got Alito through, not Bush.

Good points...I agree. It's not as if Republicans haven't faced this problem before, i.e. a Democratic House and Senate and a Republican party. It's rather been the norm.

When he signs the amnesty bill for 20 million new democrat voters(illegal aliens) can we start undermining him? We'll just have to see what kind of amnesty bill they can get through Congress won't we? There are Dems in the House that will not support amnesty, and they need 60 votes in the Senate. We have a lot of battles still ahead.

Now is the time for us all to unite and prepare for this battle on Cap HillNo, that was Tuesday. Now we have two years of treason to deal with.
Hail the global caliphate, brought to you by the same spiteful, disloyal back-stabbers who brought you Ho Chi Minh City and Pol Pot--the American electorate.

I know it sounds silly. But I cringed every time Bush hedged on immigration. I don't know of one conservative agreeing with the administration policy on immigration. The only way voters could get his attention was to vote Dem or stay at home. I look at the bright side, Bush will survive this political attack and future generations will consider Bush one of BEST Presidents in modern times, right behind Reagan.

FWIW, the people that stayed home are the more apolitical religous types...at least that's my guess. It's tempting to blame the voters...I've certainly felt like doing so since Tue. night, but ultimately, the candidates are responsible for motivating voters. The sad truth is, our candidates just didn't get it done this time. Our main argument seemed to be: "vote for us, so the Democrats don't get in power." That's not a winning strategy, as we have once again learned.
We need to blow off some steam, get new leadership and motivation, and start getting ready to do battle in '08, motivated by clearly defined and well-communicated principles.

Since the rats are gleefully crowing over the fact that they fully intend to put Gates through confirmation hell over Iran-Contra, etc., I hope it's to withdraw Rummy's resignation. What a twist of the knife that would be!

Apparently, some of our resident hand wringers have not had much exposure to "gallows humor" before.
Nothing wrong with a few doleful chuckles here amongst ourselves y'all.

They will either switch parties, drag the DNC to the rightI think they could ultimately become the source of a viable Third Party, if Pelosi and Co. try to overreach and play LBJ-like games with the new Congressmen.

Careful Mr. President... You are in danger of taking the title from Jimmy Carter as the most idiotic ineffective president in modern times.
Just imagine sir being hated and despised by your OWN base for ETERNITY!... Not all is lost sir, you still can do some good.
Avoid the temptation of being "loved by the LEFT."

From a poster on another thread:
Just heard on the radio.
Dem turnout = 31+ million.
Rep turnout = 25+ million.
To all those Pubs who stayed home to teach a lesson, thank you very much.
