Man injured after launching firework from bottom

LONDON (AFP) - A man was rushed to hospital in Britain with severe internal injuries after trying to launch a powerful firework from his bottom, an ambulance service spokesman said.
It is thought that the 22-year-old could have been trying to imitate a scene from "Jackass: The Movie", a controversial film featuring a series of edgy pranks.
Footage of the incident in Sunderland, north-east England, was captured on a mobile phone by a gang of youths and shows a white flash followed by hysterical laughter and a youth shouting: "Ha ha ha ha," followed by an expletive.
A spokesman for the North East ambulance service said: "We received a call stating there was a male who had a firework in his bottom and it was bleeding."
He is now recovering in a Sunderland hospital after sustaining internal injuries including a scorched colon.
The incident took place on November 5, when Britons light bonfires and let off fireworks to commemorate a 17th century plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
LOL! That's part of the urban legend / joke that begins with: "In retrospect, lighting the match was my big mistake...", right?
Well, that all depends on whether they have the proper gases to propel them...

I can't remember how it begins but it definitely involves 2 homos and a hamster and a methane explosion. It's funny how many people recognize that from just one word. :-D
A plot to destroy Parliament? Hmm... for some reason, I find that story inspiring.
It isn't just the injury. It's having to use an industrial power ram to get the ice cubes and ointment into place.

Amazing. When did that happen? I never saw anything about it, so must have been hibernating.
I think I'll continue on blithely fearing firecracker colon pain and never put it to the test.

I don't know where the footage originate from on the Youtube link. I know of at least one Delta blowing up but it was aborted further afield and occurred in the early stages of the rocket's development. IIRC, the explosion occurred at Vandenberg, and it was over the ocean.
