You are right, this is a war, and deporting Muslims might do some good, but a] it is never going to happen and b] extreme Jihadists can just as easily start chess clubs and bowling associations to find places to meet and recruit.

At this moment, we must turn the heat up publically on the mosques -- it is something we can do legally. We need to start with facts, hard facts, and be very selective about who we

It should definitely be more than picketing and civil protests -- I agree with you. We as citizens should wage a citizens war -- using all legal means to embarrass these people, make them afraid to meet and show their faces, make them slink back into caves, and let the public know what they are doing. If a bank has loaned them money, we need to write their boards and shareholders and credit risk departments and public affairs offices (some of which do pay attention) and get the word within the bank that outsiders know about this and get them to drop their loans.

I have a sibling in the CIA, and let me tell you, they are watching these mosques and the individuals in them. But they need more people doing background research and bringing them to light, so they can spend less time finding extremists (which we can do legally) and spend more time doing something about them.

Thanks for your thoughtful response to my post.

I'd like to add a comment on that. President Bush requested, and Congress approved changes to the remnants of what was once a volunteer civil defense apparatus to a new secret agency with members by government invitation only. Lost was the opportunity for concerned citizens to play a roll in the war on terrorism on the home-front. After 9-11, millions of citizens awaited word on how they could help. The government could have had millions of pairs of trained eyes and ears watching every corner of our nation for free. Why the government shunned voluntary citizen participation is beyond me. If this war is everything the president described, he should have called on all resources. Instead he told people to go shopping.

I want Islam out of our nation completely.
