What I find odd is there were huge numbers that voted for the Marriage Amendment and yet somehow Webb is ahead. Most people I heard "polled" who were Webb supporters claimed to have voted "No."
Romanov, I've wondered the same thing. But the marriage amendment didn't get that much attention, at least in NOVA, during the election. Webb opposed; Allen supported, so you'd have thought that since it passed in the 60%'s it would have brought more to the Allen side.
I was at a couple of Allen rallies, and other than the usual line about preserving marriage, there realy wasn't much focus on the issue. In the final week or so before the election those same "polls" showed support for the Amendment going below 50% .. but that probably reflected people not wanting to sound like 'homophobes.'
Blacks would have voted against gay marriage but for Webb.
