I don't believe this nonsense for a minute. A Democrat is a Democrat - a lying sack of donkey excrement that would sell their dear old grandmother into sexual slavery for a taste of power.

If President Bush wants to stick it to these phonies, he should practice an aggressive divide and conquer policy - force these "Blue Dogs" to choose between party and their supposed principles time and again. Either the moonbats will go mad, fracturing the party - or the "Blue Dogs" will be exposed as the brie-eating, Chardonnay swilling socialist fakes they are.

Regards, Ivan

I'm with you, Ivan. They are frauds who ran to the right of RINOs, bought and paid for by George Soros. (Guess who was Bobby Casey's biggest contributor?) When they get to D.C., they WILL vote just like Nancy Pelosi and Teddy Kennedy tell them to vote. Do you remember that freshman congresswoman from around Philly that the Democrats, one on each side, escorted up the aisle to cast her vote for Clinton's big tax increase? She was reluctant to vote for it because she had promised her constituents that if they elected her, she was a Democrat who would NEVER vote to raise their taxes. Turned her into a one-timer, but she obeyed orders just like all good Democrats do.

Ford lost in Tennessee because he's a liar and a phony who couldn't fool enough of the people with his bogus "conservative" views adopted just for the election. Being part of the Ford Crime Family of Memphis didn't help either. As for the rest of the wins by these so-called "Blue Dog" Democrats, well, they just were able to fool more voters in their states. And they will all take their orders from the Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry bunch. You can freakin' bank on that.

I agree completely with your assessment.

One cannot be socially conservitive with the likes of Kennedy, Reid, Byrd and Pelosi running the show. They seem to only care about today. Tomorrow is going to be real tough on them -- and us.

The Demon-crat party will either selfdestruct or these noobs will be forced out to the fringes like sacraficial lambs.

I agree with you 100%!

The Democratic party should have been outlawed during Reconstruction and its place assumed by the Prohibition party!

At one time Al Gore and Moi Kerry were anti abortion and pro gun.

Look at Gore and Kerry to see what these blue dogs will be in a decade.

I don't know.

I remember the Dixiecrats - they were dems, they were southern and they hated liberals. Most of them wound up as Republicans.

Ivan, nice try, but if the GOP didn't have a spine when they were in the majority, I don't see them having one now.

They will give Pelosi everything she wants, and more.

Bush will definitely be impeached in the House now. No doubt about it.

Pelosi will use that issue to dominate the headlines so that the Blue Dogs don't have to make any hard choices.

And even if they do, there are enough pro-abort, pro-gay RINOs in our caucus to make up for Demo defections. Now that the Dems are controlling the agenda, and wear the rings that will need to be kissed, most RINOs will shed what little loyalty they had to the GOP and start voting like Pelosi.

Bush basically threw in the towel this afternoon. He might as well resign, take Cheney with him, and let a Democrat take the White House now. He will bear all of the blame and get none of the credit the next two years. Yet he will enact their agenda, so it will be a Republican who gives us the goofy liberal agenda.

And then, since the GOP will be angering the base even further, he is setting us back a generation.

Despite running as a conservative on nearly every issue — even immigration — the black former congressman could not prevail in the one Southern senate seat in play.

Ford did run as a conservative. Unfortunately for him, he had a decade of liberal votes to contradict his campaign.

I do not agree. There is a silver lining in their social conservatism. Many people care about ideas rather than parties. I include myself in that.

As to their veracity - did they merely hold these positions for face value only - time will tell.

And as long as the Democrat party retains its "proud" and unbending platform position on abortion, and fails to demonstrate legislative zeal in protecting "We the People" in our KCBA rights, I will not be voting Democrat.

Wait just a damn minute!!

I wear cowboy boots, sometimes biker boots, love hunting, love fishing even more, hate abortions, want less government spending, hate taxes and I did vote for Ronald Reagan.

There is no way in the world I would EVER vote for a filthy dim and I don't care what they SAY they NOW support.

Those that voted or 'otherwise helped' these creeps into office..... are traitors, period.

These a$$clowns can play all the smoke and mirrors they want, this is one boy they can't fool.

When Republicans are too scared to try to end abortion once and for all, at best waiting for the SCOTUS to become strong enough to reverse that abomination of some 20-something years ago, these "Blue Dogs" have plenty of room to maneuver. Nothing more has been tried with partial birth abortion. As for gun rights, that question has been settled for a while, and so so-called conservative Democrats can pose any way they want without having to back up their positions with votes. As for the blue dogs representing crime-ridden gun-grabbing hellholes like Washington DC...there aren't any.

Democrats also picked up an open seat in Republican Arizona and even unseated a Republican incumbent in Kansas — where Mr Bush won 62 per cent of the vote in 2004.

We have to come to grips with these realities, and try to figure out what kind of coalition we need to hold the existing red states.

The GOP already can write off the NE States. Pennsylavania seems blue for good now and Ohio is a biggie.

We've continued to lose California for awhile now.. That is a bunch of electoral votes that we seem to have no chance at, while the democrats seem to have struck on a strategy to peel off some of these western and midwestern voters.

This may be a tough nut for the next RNC chair to crack.

I will say this, even though I don't wish it to happen:

If there is some kind of big terrorist attack in a major population center, all this goes out the window, and almost every state comes into play if the security issue gets back to the top, and people reflect on who tried to stop it, and who tried to ignore it.

BS. They wouldn't sell Gramma for less than a good shot at total power.

And these supposed conservative dems are going to vote for Pelosi to lead them. They won't be conservative for very long, not that I think they ever were.
