For me it was the President's appearance on Rush. His Dad did the same thing shortly before he was defeated.
GET OUT!
Nah. That's what Democrats say when they lose elections. And they are not the correct descriptions anyway.
The American people (10-percent of Republicans anyway) were depressed, and mis-informed.
And probably some other descript adjectives.
There were thousands of Republicans who yesterday would not agree to come to the polls and vote.
We called them from the GOP headquarters, but they wouldn't answer the phone, nor would they drive to the polls.
Methinks they allowed themselves to believe the PMSNBC-PMSDNC brainwash machine which claimed a "wageless" economic growth, and that "America is less safe today than it was five years ago."
I realize the GOP always must fight the mainstream media, but this time the mainstream media was brutal brutal, and more brutal against the GOP.
And before anyone says the GOP failed to put out its message, I have to inject the fact that it takes something to at-least-halfway-honestly express that message, and not just Fox News.
I hate to use the cliche to blame the media, but in the race here in eastern Penna, the newspapers took every single talking point accusation from the Dem candidates, and I mean EVERY SINGLE TALKING POINT, and ran with them as if they were truisms that the country had already decided.
ROFLLL!!!
I LIKE IT!
Well, the Gates hearings will be the show trial that Rummy just avoided. Can't blame him. What a clusterflop.
"I am SICK of it. I am sure you are as well, I mean, wouldn't we ALL want it to be over by now? I'm not blaming ANYONE, sh*t just happens, but I am saying that if _I_ am sick of it, I can imagine a swing voter (who is not very principled) is sicker than I am, and would easily allow that to change his vote."
Did you know that in one year in just Baghdad...we renovated nearly 500 Schools?
Did you know that a company of Engineers built a 5 mile water pipeline to a farming community within sight of Baghdad that had been waiting for 33 YEARS to have water running from their taps?
Did you know that we are completely rebuilding the infrastructure of Iraq...in some cases from the ground up?
Did you know that an Artillery Battalion commander worked with the Down Syndrome society in Kansas City to supply a privately run school for children with Downs Syndrome in Baaghdad? His soldiers also helped renovate the school.
I'll just make a guess that you are totally surprised that these kinds of things and more are going on in Iraq AS WE SPEAK.
If you want to be "sick" of anything...be "sick" of the MSM purposely distorting what myself and 150,000 other soldiers are doing in Iraq on a daily basis.
Get tired of reporters only showing the carnage and NOT the good...which is by far the greater part of what is going on in Iraq.
I want it to be over when our mission over there is complete and not a minute sooner.
I do NOT want to come home for the sake of being homsick and leave people I went far away to help WITHOUT a home to go to.
If a "swing voter" is that uninformed as to what is going on in the world today that he or she will rely on the very limited news the media deigns us fit to understand and comsume...then that "swing voter" doesnt deserve the privelage IMHO.
I 've said this on other treads here and it bears repeating...this is the start of a 10 year nightmare
Unfortunately I agree with you completely. And I'm optimistic maybe 99% of the time. I hate feeling otherwise but they're gonna get us all killed, and sooner rather than later.
LOL!!
Who??
That's a nice thought, but I think the reality will be the opposite. This election will probably push Republican leadership more toward the "middle".
Thanks a lot to all you morons who didn't vote. You really need to learn the difference between a primary and a general election.
Dubya's speech is very forced.
Your only just now starting...? ;)
I first heard that from Margaret Thatcher. She showed what firm convictions and a brass set can do for you.
I LOVE MARK LEVIN!
Excellent piece..thanks!
Head of the CIA under Bush I and presently head of Texas A&M.
Appeasement doesn't work.
