Under Bush I the Dims kept Congress out of recess through technicalities to keep recess appointments off the table. Now that President Bush has made a recess appointment, do you think they will end that practice?
He certainly didn't do himself favors I agree. I'd like to hear more about this from him. I wonder if that late June meeting with the WH was more "influential" than he previously admitted.
"Want me to save you a spot in my cave?"
Save one for me anyway. We still get TV, right?
you want to trust this SCOTUS with that? the same SCOTUS that had 5 votes that gave AQ geneva protections?
Yes. Plenty of unexpected things can happen between now and 2008.
The Sheehan, end the war drum beat will be louder then ever now. Just wait.
I'm done with OReilly, and most of FNC too.
Enemies without and enemies within. Honestly I do not know how this president keeps his focus and humor. No one agrees with anyone else 100% of the time, not ever. We are all human and I don't expect perfection. But what I have expected, for the most part President Bush has given it 150%.
It kills me that he was elected by conservatives, and has consistently governed as a moderate to liberal Republican.
When he puts the microphone aside and actually goes about the hard work of getting a single candidate elected I'll take him seriously. He's an entertainer and many are the afternoons I have listened to him but he's never been elected, he could never get elected and he's hopelessly out of touch with the majority of Americans.
I respectfully disagree. Rush seemed especially ho-hum the last six weeks or so. The only thing he had was the MJF fiasco. Today he sounds like he hasn't sounded in a long time.
That is my brother as well. A man of few words but a wonderful listener. Never shoots from the hip and at times, in my younger years, it drove me crazy. Now I get it.
It's gyp, short for "gypsy". Used to imply that gypsies would cheat you.
Well if we: 50% of the electorate stopped watching and reading the MSM- NY Times, CBSNBCABCMSNBCCNN, Newsweak, etc... and told all of our friends and family to STOP- these institutions would collapse. Apparently people like being lied to.
you are truly ignorent.....
you think because you carry pom poms that you are the WORTHY base?
get over yourself....
I know people who have literally tithed to the GOP, manned phones, hold rallies, walk neighborhoods, volunteer all over the place...they literally put in the sweat to get these people elected.. and then when you question them- they call you names... the verbally attack you, your family, etc.....
so keep carrying water for the people who have no sense of the words people's servant.....they think we are their servants.....and God help anyone who would actually have the audacity to want the same job they have and actually represent their district........
Hey, think about it. His program has turned into a major institution in this country. Of course he is pandered to by GOP politicians and politicos.
But that is not his natural inclination. He rose in talk radio by being edgy, by speaking to the people. If he needs to vent as he readjusts to being more independent, who cares?
I haven't been listening for the past half hour.. what is the deal with alert on Drudge about Rush?
Bottom line is Rush feels likes his been propping up some of the Republicans and supporting them when they didn't deserve it. He didn't say which ones but I believe the President may be one of those men. I think he's also be playing nice with Bush because of the war which is very understandable. Either way I think the gloves may be off for him in the future when it comes to phony conservatives.
