I cannot believe or accept that a large number of Republicans actually turned around and voted Democrat. Maybe we misunderestimated the size of the cut-and-run Republican crowd.
I think the squishy (hey! I have a new favorite word tonight!) swing voters just turned against the Republicans en-masse.
Also, they eased their conscience in a lot of red states by either believing (or forcing their conscience to believe) that they voted for a Conservative Democrat.
Not many of these democrats ran as a real Democrat. But more like Reagan Democrats.
I don't think it was as much as "cut and run" as it was " get your sh*t together" me thinks they will return back home in 2008
Every post of gloom and woe is manna from heaven to our adversaries.
I'm not angry at the public for voting the way they did, I'm angry with my party for letting me down. They blew an eight year opportunity to change our country for the better, and ended up giving us a larger government than we had when they went in.
So I for one am not going to mope or offer my throat and belly to those who would see American neutered and socialized, I am going cede the battle graciously and begin fighting TOMORROW for the next election and to ensure the Republican party nominates viable candidates who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.
This flushing of the toilet (less Santorum) had to happen. No pain, no gain.
In the end, no media bias, no ballot box stuffing, and no lawsuit will prevent the election of a candidate with a message the resonates with the people, instills pride in their nation, and is delivered with sincerity.
Let's demand more from our party, and then work tirelessly to get them elected, and take tonight as a warning of what can happen if we do nothing at all.
