You and your ilk can go shove it tonight. I blame the unappeasables that were the my way or no way crowd like you and the writer of this crap as much as I do anyone. Hope you like Pelosi as the Speaker and no conservative judges approved. I blame you and your ilk for the fact we will have trouble getting any judge that is good through the Senate. You all can take it and shove it!
Enjoy your minority! It's a little late for your great hate GOTV effort, isn't it? Blackbird.

Two years ago the public turned out to support the president and the war in great numbers. Two years later the public sees no improvement in the situation in Iraq. It does not matter if that perception is correct or not. It would be the administrations job to correct the situation regardless if it is a problem of war fighting or propaganda the responsibility still remains with the president.

Dear Rush, Well, we reap what we sow - You (and I do mean you, Rush, and others) anoint a moderate buffoon to the White House (who I too voted for twice as the lesser of two evils) because of expedient politics instead of on honest Conservative values and real leadership
Add unqualified political appointments that result in bad politically-correct military tactics and policy on the battlefield, poor politically-correct management of our borders and illegal aliens
Add Republican empty suits in Congress, beholden to traitorous out-sourcing / open-borders big multinational corporate money, betraying the conservative revolution of Newt; Too busy enjoying being in control spending our money, while trying way too hard to be nice and bipartisan to enemies on the other side of the aisle and in their midst
Which leads back to the main offender - The utopian moderate in the White House (nice honest guy though) which also lacked the spine and leadership, and yes ruthlessness, to keep Congress in line (or to decisively win a war). The Result = The Socialist (Communist) Party (PC term: Secular Progressives) now control Congress The worst of the worst; the far left will now hold key positions. Bravo, Rush
this country is now officially screwed. While more honest Conservatives like Sean Hannity and Michael Savage tried to warn Republicans on a whole host of important issues, you continued to narrowly parrot the official Republican line
yes, you would allude to it on occasion, but just couldnt say Bush by name. Well continue to run your funny parodies, which Im sure will be even more funny with Pelosi in charge now. PS: I voted for every Republican on the SC ballot today
no problems here this time (except for when Lindsey Graham comes up for re-election, who will not have my vote).
Wish you had put that up for signatures before sending it out. Something to consider next time? Blackbird.

My Top Ten Criticisms of George W. Bush
- "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" - Enforcement of the law is a basic conservative belief. Pandering to those who openly flaunt the law is not.
- Poor Communications - There are numerous strong, clear reasons for the US to vigorously fight the War on Terror. Unfortunately, he has allowed the leftist media to spin and re-frame the war on their terms over and over again. There are issues he was absolutely, clearly right about, but he refuses to point them out. (Saddam's nuclear weapons program, anyone?) He only recently began fighting back and answering some of the more egregious media attacks. We could have used Tony Snow three years ago.
- No Child Left Behind - This program is in complete opposition to the approach on the issue of education that helped win Reagan and Gingrich staggering victories. Both of those conservative landslides called for the elimination of the DoE, not it's vigorous growth.
- Norman Mineta - A study in politically correct, ineffective bureaucracy, and at a critically dangerous time too.
- Missing Veto Pen - This new approach of avoiding vetoes like the plague and using legal memos in their stead is a dangerous thing.
- Cozying up to the enemy - BJ Clinton partnered up with Dad was just too bizarre for words. Coddling Arlen Specter is maddening enough to drive a conservative insane.
- Allowing Constitutional authority to be negotiated away - Apparently, there aren't enough White House lawyers who understand the principles of the Law of War. They all let the left make great strides in destroying the separation of battlefield law vs. civil law as well as the basic authority of the POTUS to conduct war. The White House didn't communicate a clear distinction between what is torture and what is not. McCain shot the whole party in the foot here.
- Department of Homeland Security - Yet another federal bureaucracy, yet another federal police force (is there a federal department that doesn't carry guns?), more massively overlapping areas of responsibility.
- Harriet Miers - Enough said.
- The Politically Correct war - When you try to fight a war nicely, you will lose sooner or later. War isn't nice; you can't ever make it nice. The one thing that sticks out as a real commonality between Vietnam and the WoT is that the media's opinion of it is given far too much consideration.
The time for diplomacy is after victory! Destroy the enemy, then rebuild your new allies.

I think the problem either involves Hayworth's Christianity or his support of Bush and the war in Iraq and has very little to do with immigration. After mulling it over (and after a very restless night of not much sleep), I think you pegged it about the war as the reason JD lost here. People here are strongly opposed to illegal immigration, but I find more are opposed to the direction of the war and whoever is backing the president on the issue. That is an evident pattern across the country, and was/is the #1 issue in this election.
I was driving through Tempe this AM, and I saw a huge JD Hayworth for US Congress sign at one corner. Above it, had a small sign attached, "Voted for the war in Iraq." I had to chuckle when I saw another sign attached to this one, "Please don't steal his sign, Harry!"
Hey, Fox News just mentioned that Rumsfield is stepping down. What do you know about that?

Gato, who do you think will lead the GOP in '08? who do you want? Like others, I don't see a good candidate of the sort we need. But I would say that there must be a good conservative Governor out there somewhere, but I 'm just not all that familiar with the governors. Certainly not Pataki, not Rudy... Ron Reagans are few and far between. I wouldn't be too surprised if we got Rudy though.

When we lost seats in Conn., Jersey, Pa.,N.H., etc., immigration is NOT the motivating source of GOP losses!
